That doesn't solve the whole problem though... It's not just afk, most of the time I don't reply/trade cuz I'm at simulacrums or party 100% deli map, and the group aren't going to stop for any sell. I imagine the same for ppl doing 5-way, ROTAS, etc...
I actually think ppl don't reply mostly cuz they are busy than afk (except price fixers)

Yes because in a novel concept you will be able to actually find items dropping from the mobs you kill that matter for your character. Trade is secondary, mostly friend related, and not heavily balanced against the player in terms of gear progression.
Not engaging in altar farming or Expedition to generate currency to buy the items you want from someone else.
GGG actually does it poorly on both ends. Trading sucks and so does item farming for upgrades. Not to mention how unbalanced crafting is.
Sounds like someone never played the old diablo without all the loot explosion and free stuff. Days you've spent in a party to target farm certain build enabling items for a certain classes cause you had such a low chance to obtain them solo.
Being unable to achieve something without trading is just an skill issue.
The game is balanced around trading, yet you can get away without a single trade.
Unbalanced in what terms? Cause it's not a free and save max roll crafting for all the cheap power creep zoomers anymore?
Strange that a lot of people end up with a good character progression via the multiple crafting ways we have, all also in SSF by the way.
Even HC and ruthless enjoyer with even more complex gear needs manage everything on their list without a problem.
Poe with trading is already a free ride of the game even without a busted harvest since leagues.

I enjoy PoE's hectic gameplay. Thing is, I HAVE TO CLICK WITH THE MOUSE ON SOMEONE'S NAME IF THEY WHISPER ME TO TRADE. Why can't I do this with a button press instead of stopping the flow?
Not just that, but you have to press Enter to have the chat window functionality enabled first, instead of just being able to right click when it pops up. The same for hovering over item links to view them and every other backwards archaic implementation of the chat system.
This is still the only game in existence that uses number symbols to denote chat channels and to change them, instead of simple commands like "/1" or "/p" or "/reply". No, I gotta do it like I'm using rootkit functions in the operating system that only engineers regularly use. Which is ironic, since they have things like /hideout /exit /passives, etc..
Also, a complete lack of being able to change the color of chat channels, and using the most ridiculous default ones that no game shares any semblance to.
do you even understand how UIs work? the chatbox has to be enabled for input and some functionality. otherwise, when playing a game, especially an aRPG where your mouse is moving and clicking all over the screen, you'll end up interacting with the chatbox unintentionally.

The Dude you quoted is right!
Poe trading is a free ride, no its a complete mess and waste of time?
Are you unemployed and got too much time? Otherwise your opinion is strange.

The trading philosophy of ggg is that players naturally want better items and getting them from trade shouldn't be easy.
It shouldn't be as difficult as finding it yourself but if the person you want the item from is not available they expect you to spend an hour or more to get the item and in extreme situations wait until the person gets online again.
If you think the item is not worth it, just try to find it yourself :)
Diablo 4 Should break this dumb rule of GGG. They will have a way to trde that isnt from the 80'S
I'm fairly confident D4 is going to be a mobile gacha game with updated graphics. Probably won't even buy it.

Usually I'm the one engaging in hyperbole to make a point.
That said finding the loot from killing mobs or bosses, in my opinion, is far superior than buying it on the trade market, or meta essence crafting spam on fractured items like a casino slot machine.
You could spend days in PoE looking for a gear slot upgrade and never find anything compared to what you could craft or buy in 5 minutes. Maybe you do actually enjoy that, but we have specifically discussed this looting issue numerous times post-Harvest. The looting in PoE from a gear progression standpoint is absolutely fucked. You know it, I know it, and GGG knows it.
Some of us came from D2 where trade was one of the reasons we played. To find cool stuff and make a killing off of it. I still play the same way I did when the game released, save for all the new bells and whistles that have come through the years and it still works fine for the most part in that respect in my experience.
That being said I do think there is a problem and I think it lies in that there are not enough skills that get their effectiveness from levels alone and they're usually/pretty much always restricted to spells. I think that's a big problem because I totally get not wanting to start with RF/Dot Occultist/Toxic Rain etc every league forever to have a comfortable enough start. Same problem D2 has in vanilla and resurrected in which you pretty much have to start Sorceress to farm for the character you want to play. In a perfect world we could start with what we actually want to play.

I'm not at all interested in D4, but that's very unlikely - they already have diablo immortal. No reason to make D4 a copy of that, as it doesn't make sense as it would be 2 games, released only one year apart, targetting the exact same audience.
What does make sense is to go for another sector of the market, which would be the segment that doesn't like p2w.
