Sandstorm Visage heralds

So I've done a bit more testing with some other secondary damage skills such as Bear trap, and can confirm that it does not apply to the secondary damage of those spells either.

I believe Sandstorm visage's wording implies that it is not a modifier to spell damage and rather a modifier to the spell tag. (similar to the mod, "socketed spells have +x% chance to crit "which by the way works with secondary skills with the spell tag.

Please clarify if this is the case or not, and please consider allowing it as skills like the heralds could do with some love.
Consider it's working as intended. It's much more likely that this modifier is just not precisely worded.

There are enough examples of similar cases. Look at this jewel for example

Adds 2 to 32 Lightning Damage to Spells
12 to 15 Added Spell Cold Damage while wielding a Two Handed Weapon


We can reasonably assume that the first one applies to spells (as a skill type) and the second applies to spell damage. But it's common knowledge that the former never added damage to heralds. They both work identically.

Also presence of "damage" is not obligatory for modifier to affect spell damage.
#% to Spell Critical Strike Chance, that can be found as a suffix on shaper's body armours and as a corrupted implicit on gloves, was initailly worded as Spells have +#% to Critical Strike Chance and later reworded due to similar feedback. Btw an internal id of the Sandstorm Visage's stat is in line with it "base_spell_critical_chance_equal_to_the_critical_strike_chance_of_main_weapon".

Last patch (3.20.1) they clarified descriptions of conditional modifiers (turns out Ground Slam has never scaled bleeding to closer targets), maybe it's time to clarify spell/spell damage related descriptions.
Yes it's definitely time to update descriptions to allow for one's that effect the tag spell versus damage for spells.

I really hate that this is likely intended though.

Like is it really necessary. Herald skills already have pretty low damage scaming caps.

This stat is working as intended, the wording has been updated locally and will be fixed in a future patch to specify it specifically affects "Spell Critical Strike Chance", which as has already been noted in this thread, refers to the critical strike chance of spell damage, which heralds don't deal.

Can you care to explain then why if we have jewel or the gem for crit chance to the Heralds the increase/reduction of crit chance is working and the herald damage is criting ?!

The bloddy item that makes it 100% is the problem and again we see - "the text was not clear" - no it is yet again something we should know ( nearby rings a bell ? )

Please stop this madness. We ether have to live in the game or fall behind ... ( not to start on other herald builds that you keep killing with the mana reservation shenanigan's :( )

upd. also what "to that" is referring to here? To your weapon's spell critical strike chance?
