I read that but it does not change anything at all. It is nothing more than a cheap smoke grenade. But it is funny to see people fall for it. Hehe

Right... last league they also said loot was fine before fix and loot goblins didn't exist.
Yh nice buff losing the ability to corrupt uniq jewels for implicits when they only can be created via corrupting a non uniq jewel in the first place.

My favorite was the Assassin catching a stray bullet with Withering Step and Elusive
Second-class poe gamer
Got to love that GGG logic. Nerfing shit into the ground will make people want to play something else right? Yeah I want to play a different game.

It actually changes everything. Because what people want is a certain way to farm, and with the extreme spikeyness of this season getting 50 maps nothing and then a payout u have to share with a culler is not what people want. But if you flatten the drop curve you are by default creating a baseline of drops that you can work with.

So, whats left: That MF chars get more than you do? Buddy I don´t know how long you´re playing PoE but this has been the case for all the leagues I´ve played in at least. If that is your problem then of course you would see the change as just a smoke grenade, but the fact of the matter is that you don´t understand the problem that was created at all, you rather want as much loot as mf chars alltogether.

what about huge mapping drop nerf?

Sorry, clarify?

Do you mean the AN mob that converted loot to maps, or something else?

The loot goblin isn't gone is it?
It's just hidden now I thought.

That effectively removes it though - if you can't tell what mob it is, it doesn't impact the gameplay in any way. Plus, they said the rewards will be more even out into time, as in the blessed mob will be more common but drop less.

Just hiding the loot goblin makes it even worse if rarity still affects currency tiers.

No, it does remove the loot goblin problem that one wants to call a culler to kill a mob for him.

That having MF leads to dropping more stuff than not having MF has always been the case, so that's nothing new.
Yeah, the biggest problems were the transparency of what monster yielded the conversion rewards and the huge spikes. Both of them are being dealt with, the former problem is completely gone, the latter has to be tested to make the changes clear.

If the spike problem is in an OK state, you shouldn't feel forced to run MF anymore than you did before AN came along.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

ANYONE that played early 3.19 could absolutely tell something was up. Many people thought there were bugs and reported (breaches dropping nothing, strongboxes empty, lack of alchs and basic currency, map sustain, ect..), It wasnt imaginary, and for him to say that it wasnt a thing, and "normal" players were not impacted is... idk what to say here without it being too personal to CW.

So I have a lot of thoughts on this.

1) I love that Ziggy is asking a real, relevant, and 'tough' question here

2) But I hate that it was the one to end the interview on. This should have been pitched around the 60% mark of the questions. This was a question for which there is no good answer for, and thus, had no chance of ending on a happy note. Q and A should end on a happy/optimistic/hype note.

For reference, the non-question question in question:

"
Chris, can you please share your thoughts on the loss of the historic buff to loot.

3) What did this question mean by "historic"? Did they mean the 'unprecedented magnitude' of the change? Or did they mean 'of or relating to the past'? Chris verbalized an answer to the former, but the latter meaning remains overshadowed by the communities discussions.

Initially, 3 months ago, Chris meant this by 'historic'

"
we removed a massive historic bonus to item quantity and/or rarity that applied to some league-specific monsters.

That 'historic' buff meant a buff to historic league monsters, aka any monsters from Breach, Expedition, Legion received (in league) and retained (when they went core) large buffs to their IIR and IIQ. Hundreds of % worth.

So now lets look at what he actually said to Ziggy.

"
[if you're farming red maps] there is no loss - of anything. It's better than it was before. Sentinel is higher than it was previously (I believe he meant to say Lake instead of Sentinel)... (paraphrasing)Groups using very focused set ups were nerfed(/paraphrasing)... For some reason, the community feeling on this was that we nerfed the average player.

He book-ended this quote; preceding it saying that players didn't undersand the changes and concluding it saying that it was communicated poorly.

"
but where we got it to with the buffs we did, we got it to where it was better than it was before

So there are two main sticking points: are we talking about our experience farming 'historic' monsters? And are we talking about launch weekend, or gameplay after day 10 of the league.

I'm disappointed that no one has told CW how bad the loot really was opening weekend pre buff. They (and Lake enjoyers) seem happy to shrug off the opening weekend and say 'yeah alch and go loot is fine now, whiners are just haters'.

Meanwhile, if you played opening weekend and specced your atlas into Beyond and Metamorph (both bugged, and in the case of Beyond, savagely overtuned and unrewarding) and also specced into Essence (subsequently nerfed due to how hard AN was multiplying its difficulty), you had a bad time.

I was that player. All 3 of the atlas things I focused on were broken. And GGG nerfed the baseline rewards of the legions, expeditions, and breaches I was randomly finding. Had I quit the league then I would be fuming mad if anyone tried to tell me loot in LoK was fine. For somewhere between 3 and 7 days, loot was NOT fine.

People, everyone, CW included, need to stop talking past each other on the question of timeframe.

Salty early league flame outs need to understand that 7 man party giga juicers got nerfed, and loot for normies did eventually get buffed in patches after they quit.

CW and Lake enjoyers need to be honest about how bad loot was early - even if they weren't in maps yet at that point.
