Should Magic Find be removed from the game (Poll)

Yeah, I totally forgot about RMT.
And I was 100% for the deletion of MF gear before you reminded me.

Dear fair and honest MFrs, we do not want to delete your builds just like we do not want to delete anyone's build.

It just creates too many problems that are far worse than some OP DPS skills.

Mf is not the problem, mf have many benefits to market supply/demand, and removing it will be a disaster to the market and to new players.

Your dripping condescension aside, Yes actually I think it's VERY important to respect the opinions of those with no knowledge, as well as those with a lot of knowledge. For example: The opinions of new players that the game doesn't seem to be a lot of fun are as valid as those of any old-timer insisting it's fine the way it is.

That being said, I struggle to understand how anyone in this thread can claim to be wiser than anyone else or more knowledgeable: Whilst the pure numbers are obscured at GGG's discretion, most of the information we have regarding drop rates, nerf rates and MF interactions with league multipliers are well documented and sit in public for anyone to review. We understand the endgame is now about loot pinatas and MF culling.
That is why video after video and comment after comment and complaint after complaint is being posted here, and elsewhere about how bad the current situation with the game is.


But we get it. The opinions of lesser beings will not sway you. You love yer Magic Find. You want yer magic find. You voted "Give me mah Magic Find!"

Well - You are very welcome to have that opinion and to vote like everyone else - and to make your comments like everyone else. Viva la democracy!

It will be worth EXACTLY what everyone else's vote and comment is worth. You might find, however, that covering it with extra helping of smug will do little to increase its value.


P.S. The "shock-horror" image you dismiss is not a deviation to the game nor some rare occurrence - it is the de facto standard across the endgame player experience. If you spent less time genuflecting to yourself and more time reading and understanding the opinions of lesser creatures perhaps you would know that.

They could keep it if:
-mf stacks on enemy depending on damage done. Like for example character A does 20% of damage with 90% mf and character B does other 80% of damage with 15% mf. Then mob dies and drops loot with mf=20%*(1+90%)+80%*(1+15%).

-also optionaly every higher tier mod could have some small mf (higher mf with better mod tier)

Guess what? If they removed IIR and IIQ from items & skills, then you'll be left with exactly what you want. Maps that increase IIR and IIQ as you stack mods on to them (which can increase enemy defences/damage output) with no other way to get IIR and IIQ!

I've read in the past that Chris (paraphrasing) has said that mf and quant have basically been a constant factor he's felt he's needed to balance around.

While I would happily let go of mf/quant if it ACTUALLY led to better balancing, based on several years of experience as a PoE player I don't think it would be a positive for the community as I think that "PoE Math" has gotten too complicated for them to realize the outcome. Well, rather if its excessively good its an immediate fix, but if its excessively bad you're stuck waiting for a fix that may not come.

MF is an important dynamic of this game, it shouldn't be removed at all and ever. It's in fact the only reason for people to play together, without it is there any point at all in party play?

I think MF back in 3.13 was ideal, not that it had changed much, but there were at least things to do... than just farming currency/div cards.
