Build? I would be happy to lose all my 26 character slots and all my currency / items from all leagues standard/HC/SF and start from scratch with a single character slot in a new season if it meant getting rid of this ridiculous dinosaur mechanism.
Build? Builds come and go. What was meta one season is nerfed the next. Noone should be under the illusion that their build from last season is going to remain OP. Plus for MOST players there is something exciting about facing the unknown and having to experiment with an ever-changing gear and skill landscape. Sadly that has been forgotten these past few years as the metas took over. Yes. If your "favorite build" is a MF build then it needs to die. And who knows? Yes like most players in the past few leagues I have been forced to create at least one character specifically to farm for the currency and drops I needed for the other characters that I - you know - actually would prefer to play. I like to experiment with builds. I don't follow metas and I don't copy what other players are doing beyond taking note of interesting and fun mechanics. This has made having at least one MF build essential - usually a farming starter. I'm going to make a sweeping statement you won't like: MF builds are generally trash. Most of them would never be able to comfortably do real endgame content. They are for farming on a rinse/repeat cycle - that's it. This is arguably the lowest form of gameplay in POE. The upper UPPER echelon of MF builds that can actually stand tall against elite endgame content usually involve gear that has a RMT value of many hundreds of dollars - and tbh I suspect (but of course I can't prove so this is just my opinion) that a high percentage of those so-called top-tier farmers are involved in RMT. Sooner or late if you join a public red-maps party you will witness yourself what one of those builds can do, just before your graphics card dies. I believe there is a massive black market for high tier gear and MF is the key mechanism to supply the RMT demand. More: MF-Culling is an absolute abortion of fun. It is so ANTI what the game is supposed to be (Skill vs difficulty = rewards = fun and rewarding!) that I'm basically sitting POE out until something gets fixed, like a large proportion of the current player base. mf can be a thing in low tier content, but in endgame it should not be a thing.

" #1 they have heavy nerfs on their gear to balance what they get, Something being trash isnt a good reason to delete it, its a good reason to buff it :P #2 not only can you clear endgame content you can easily deal enough dps for endgame, though this is an advanced build requiring a lot of game knowledge. " I can reach higher levels than probably any rarefinder in the game presently(non legacy), You don't need a lot, you need a handful of chaos most legues except for chestplate, And I'm one of those people who joined public partys to help everyone get better loot and sure i'd show up to help a friend last hit a boss now and then but it was never like the dramatic images that have been going around. " Solaris touched is the excuse people are using that MF is broken, Your solution is to fix that not delete an entire build from the game, the problem would still exist. MF is the third dimension when building a character, and has been a staple in these games for decades.
The balance it brings means you have to decide between Damage, Survivability, and Magic Find. MF is good for the entire genre. |

" Other games, other economies. No one should use non-mf in POE, cause u simply get more loot and beat the hardest content with mf. People obvious do, cause they like to play different builds. But that doesn´t make mf fair. Mf has a balance issue in POE. The fun part is, that GGG removed mf in the past, like the IQQ-gem and now, they brought mf back with this culling bs. So much for GGG´s logic. |
