Why is pathofmatth banned?
Wasn't big fan of PoM, so I thought he was better than that.
The ban is totally justified, with that level of hate he spewed on twitch. Such a fiasco for him a streamer and I also respect him less now. People are upset, angry and frustrated - that's ok, but don't bring this out in public in such a vulgar way. This wouldn't solve anything. Keep streamer's dignity. You lose control, you step over the line - you get punished for this, all's fair. Also I am surprised he didn't get strike/ban from Twitch for this, as they are much MUCH more intolerable to any kind of verbal offence - be that genders, races or any other. " Banning him won't change anything either. PoE is an absurdly broken state. Emotions are still up everywhere. GGG's Moderators keep deleting posts like clicking fusings for a 6-link. But that's not adressing the broken state: the emotions keep on being up. And the game is still a broken mess. Censorship will not solve the core problem. |

he got banned in game for something he said on stream that's questionable moderation and sets a bit of a bad precedent i don't think anyone should be happy about it even if what he said was a valid reason for a ban if he had said it in game or in forums or other sites that fall under GGG's ToS

He got an ID ban so can't even make a new account.
Pretty unfortunate, he was one of my favorite comntent creators. What he said was pretty f**king stupid though. |

" Banning him shows that you should not start going personal on stream. It was totally unprofessional. If PoM was so mad he should've sent Chris a private e-mail with the same words he said on twitch, but I somehow doubt he'd do that. Instead he spewed this toxicity on stream, seeking acknowledgement and justification from viewers. Last edited by alex_disp#4958 on Aug 26, 2022, 8:37:07 AM

" if he really wanted he could but wouldn't be able to stream anymore and probably too much hassle |

" Yeah, guess he could try to play secretively. But I'm pretty sure 90% of the reason he plays the game is his community. When that's goone, I don't think he'll find as much enjoyment in the game. Especially not when it's in the state it's in now. ESPECIALLY not, when we've got their Vision to follow. I really hope Diablo4 will be a good game. Hopefully he can get a fresh start there when a large portion of the PoE community give that game a try. But it's blizzard after all, you never know. |

This is technically impossible. The only way to identify a PC connecting to service is through hardware ID, mainly Mac and IP addresses. Only Microsoft is known to use other hardware to ID a system. IP addresses can be changed easy and Mac addresses changed by buying a new nic.
He might not be able to be PoM again, but there is no way for PoE to ban him from their game really. They know this, which is why this is a petty counterstrike by a man who has driven PoE into the ground like a tent peg. I am not condoning what PoM said and how he said it, but the truth is I dislike Chris as much as PoM. I just won't stream. We all vent in times of great stress and upset. The things I have said about him to my wife make PoM seem almost censored! In the end, Chris is the one tripled down on his vision of PoE, which sucks by the way, and is not only ruining the game we love but also now ruining the business (streamers) that are attached and in a way made PoE a success in first place. Mr Wilson is not blameless here. He has created a lot of anger. PoM should not have said what he did. But I consider him provoked and we all blow sometimes.
