Why is pathofmatth banned?

That totally depends; is he/was he a sponsored streamer? Did he take money from GGG to promote the game? What's in that "contract"?

If I was a developer, paying streamers to promote my game, just to see that they are doing the direct opposite on stream, I would ban them too. But I would make that perfectly clear in the contract.

Have nothing to do with that "contract".

Do people know when you click I agree it say you understand that you do not own the game, and that it can be taken away from you for violating the platform’s Terms of Service for any reason or FOR NO REASON AT ALL.

That is the simple liability protection contract everyone is forced to sign. Remember that "contract"?

so if they have right to ban anyone cant they just ban anyone for different opinion no matter how much money you spent on the game?
Of course they can?

The audience was so small, nobody would even have noticed that noise. But thanks to some uber moralists the message multiplies and spreads all over the world, even in this forums. God, I love the interwebs!

And you totally got me wrong about the fact that path of Matth is all of us: of course i don't know him personally the way you seem to know him, but my point is not about personality.

It's about how GGG and Chris Wilson are dealing with criticism and community feedback in the first place. The forums are living proof for that. I've read gazillions of postings where desperate emotions are stirred in. GGG's sending a message: we ignore you, as long as you provide criticism, we don't care about what you're saying. But we hear you, as soon we have a reason to mute you.
they could bann you for creating a build guide or creating a youtube video for a guide. they could bann you for promoting their game for free on youtube by uploading your gameplay. just be careful please, its best to not upload any path of exile videos on youtube, you could get banned every moment.

I'm sure you'll be just fine just if you manage to avoid raging like spoilt brat & calling people balding r****s in it

we have all seen how that went for empy and his group when they dropped to much loot ;)

its funny how you insult him here and you dont get banned for this, after all path of math made really, really educational economy videos for path of exile.
i personally am thankful because i never had the time to break everything down and calculate cost/return in such a depth like he does, i think his poe youtube content was VERY valuable for alot of players. Dont even bother responding to me i dont really care what you have to say btw

To sum it up:

- GGG implement severe changes to core mechanics they do not communicate
- The whole league is full of design issues that have a destructive impact on fun
- the community is ignited, reddit is burning, forums are burning
- GGG's CEO puts out statements on a daily basis ignoring the core issues the community has
- streamers are upset, the community is upset
- since the game means much to anyone, emotions are involved
- although streamers are heavily relying on the fruition of the game they're specialized into, they are forced to observe a decision making process of their game company that destroys trust and fun
- they can only observe it passively although their own business is connected to that bad decision making of that company
- the amount of anger regarding GGG and especially regarding Chris, who even admits a huge amount of 'stubborness' in his latest posting, is vastly acknowledgable all over the net
- a streamer, who is responsible for bringing so much people to the game is frustrated and is venting to let out the frustration about all that cringy stuff going on, is for just a second not the 24/7/365 nice guy and grumbles
- the company, which sew distrust and frustration in the first place just bans him

I dont know what you're all talking about: the company is looking so weak by using this move, it's turning the responsibilities upside down. Yet another decision that escalates the situation instead of fixing it.

Path of Matth is one of that streamers that pointed out the right problems with the game at it's current state. Path of Matth is literally all of us: His voice is slammed down, his questions unheard, his doubt about the direction of the game just muted. GGG reacts like an dictator deporting his critics.

Path of Matth definitely crossed the line with the personal insults, but on the other hand I think GGG brought it on themselves. 'Everyone' is upset at the moment, even the calmest streamers. It's simply unfortunate that Math was the one who snapped and said loudly what 'everyone' was thinking.

I'm totally with you. In fact PoM teached me a thousand tricks, how to craft, defence layers, and so on. Actually he drew my attention to some leagues i would have skipped without him. I think many posters here didn't know him prebanned.

That's Twitch for you. Not even moralists, but just trolls and petty people. Few years ago a Russian streamer was reviewing 'leaked' Hearthstone cards of the ucpoming expansion. And for this review he created a picture gallery with the leaked cards in his Facebook account. And while he is doing the review, one troll just posts a comment in his gallery with a picture of a dic* during the livestream, and the people start reporting him just for 'fun', and of course Twitch gives him a temp ban for nudity/porn.
He is banned for truth
