Why some people prefer to play SSF ?

You not wrong. Amount of time you want/can dedicate to a league plays major role. It is not the only consideration, but it is a major one for sure.

If a grown adult can't plan in advance at least a weekend to do what he wants (in this example, it's PoE for atleast 8h a day?) - then what's the point of being an adult?

What do you people do on the weekends, really?
Visit wife's mom? Skip it once in a while
Go out for a walk? Are you fkin 70? Skipping won't hurt
Watch a movie with a wife? If she respects you - you're fine to ask and play with your friends for a few days

Only slaves "do not have time" for things they enjoy and like, because they are not the ones who decide their own fate

I don't like it and I will never play it. I don't see the appeal.

Trading is a huge aspect I love in an ARPG and POE delivers it in spades! SSF is like taking out the multiplayer aspect and just reduces it to a singleplayer gamemode. Which brings me to my next point and although uncommon nowadays, partying up with players is more fun than solo-play. I am most fond of the old party races where you needed to play as a team.

I play SSF hardcore only, I like to find and craft my own items, drops feel so much more rewarding. I also like slower progress and extra challenge.

Me do not like trading, its pane in the ass. If you want to sell something you need to be online (which is not good for our climate) If you want to buy something then you are wasting your time to contact the seller. -> auctions house is urgently needed....

Now I am playing ssf, but this season it also fucks up. As it is stated in https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2025870 "Players who don't engage in trade are at a significant progression disadvantage in Path of Exile."

The drop rates in this season are not rewarding enough, so ssf feels shit this season.

Give me a auctions house to buy and sell items without getting annoyed.

I play SSF because I derive no gratification from buying things or having things gifted to me. I want to earn them or create them on my own. It's more fun to me to make meaningful decisions and tradeoffs as I go rather than planning my build in advance with certain items in mind. I also have high frustration tolerance in that I'm willing to try and fail over and over again. I think that definitely shapes my playstyle in a lot of games.

I play SSF because of the linear progression. You don't get to use uber-boss loot to beat your first uber-boss. You find and make your own gear and progress maybe slower but you can focus on the next small step to fix your build. What do you need next is what you are gonna play. Not some bridge farming memes to get exotic gear from other leagues. Thanks to the Atlas tree, SSF is easy if you don't mind taking your time to progress through the different stages of the endgame.

Also, the SSF community is more chill, if you are a global chatter.

This is the first time I play SSF and I'm having a blast.
Progression is fun. You spend a lot more time playing than you do trading. Dropped 13 divines in 2 weeks and spent them all crafting because who cares about economy. Each unique drop is exciting. Stuff you wouldn't touch with pincers in trade is golden in SSF. I was able to craft a +2 amulet for my SRS Necro just with the stuff I found. I am now farming fossils for a +2 Convoking Wand. Essences are king. The next best strayegy from the last streamer is worth nothing for you because your goal is not making money. You don't have FOMO for the last exploit that makes divines drop like candy because you simply don't care. You learn so many recipes and tricks to create all the stuff you need yourself. If Essences are king, Harvest is queen. All I have on me was crafted by myself. Taking down pinnacle Atlas bosses with garbage is so fun.
Also I'm not doing trade league anymore. SSF is way more fun.
