That's what I think, yeah. I'm ready to be proven wrong though, because I find it strange that GGG would push out an ascendancy that would be dead on arrival when their general pattern is that the newest stuff tends to be OP af.

Nah, Trickster is very much playable (and maybe defensively OP) - IF you choose to play a META skill that requires close to zero investment on the tree.

That said, Trickster looks like a second or third build ascendancy, as it very much looks like Trickster builds will require a lot of investment in terms of gear. Looks like an expensive class - but if you can put in the money, you'll get rewarded (I think).
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

curious to test One Step Ahead + singularity + temp chain as aura .....
learning is a painful process ... knowledge is the most deadly weapon.

In this case one step ahead will do literally nothing for you when it comes to slowing the enemies.
To run exclusively one step ahead makes a lot more sense.

Even quarter of my current DPS (the melee character) would be enough to easily do T16 and farm currency. I would gladly trade 50% of my DPS for 46% less damage taken + extra speed

The champ has like 300k shaper dps... I wouldn't be surprised if it struggled with killing a stronger rare, much less if it lost half of its damage.

What champion? I didnt play Champion for years.
Playing Inquisitor again.
If you can't control it, STOP.

This makes a lot of sense - something like CoC can scale to ridiculous damage levels, so for something like that, Trickster might be great.
