Guardian, Elementalist and maybe even Scion were already better, for some minions, than Necromancer. Now Necromancer might be just the worst of all instead being on par.


Not all minions are the same - and that is part of the nerf problems for some.

But - imo- any raised minion (from the dead) should be a necromancer skill and that class should have benefits other classes don’t. This just goes with tradition and common sense to me.

Now, elemental golems? I can see those getting benefits from the elementalist class to be better.

Since scion can specialize to whatever….ok. But shouldnt be on par or better.

But the guardian? Makes no sense theme-wise for that class to ever outdo a witch.

Dont be hating on the boomer.
It makes perfect sense that his friends/allies are reanimated corpses etc.

He doesnt have to clear these friends off his lawn, cause they live under it. Or make a nice boulder waterfall in some cases.

Right up the Old Man themed alley in fact.
He might bo older than those friends.

Absolutely not. All minions, that include SRS, Golems, Skellies, HoP et.c. ALL got nerfed 20% in dmg across the board through a blanket minion nerf.




What blanked nerf? Not every build used Necromancer nor went crit and used apes.


All minion skill gems are getting a ~20% dmg nerf.
This blanket nerf does not include spectres (Who get -2 levels instead) or animate weapons/AGs since their base dmg is based on the stats of the items used to animate them.

They specialize in "aspects" of the skill, you pick a class to complement a skill, the thing you think you need. Thanks to that you have more then one viable options. Some better, some worse but there is no rule saying "this one should be the best".

Thats the point of having classes in PoE, to have options not to pigeonhole skills.

Now imagine if you want to play a Mage Necromancer league starter, lets list the nerfs:

1. 20% dmg nerf to all minions through base minion nerf across the board.
2. 25% dmg nerf to Skeleton mages individually
3. 20% dmg nerf due to the removal of Unnatural Strength
4. 50-70% dmg nerf due to the nerf to Frenzy and Power charges (Assuming you won't use them any longer)

I was never a fan of Skelly mages, but I don't think I've ever seen a build nerfed this hard in a single patch. Imo, dmg was never the issue with Mages. It was that they were too tanky due to capping block with Aegis Aurora.

If we look at the Forums we'll see alot of medium budget skelly mage guides in the budget range of 10-50 ex from people like Kay. These builds have around ~15 million dps usually and will now most likely end up around 3 million or around that ballpark.

Basically unplayable. Not gonna be much better for other minions like Golems, Zombies et.c. The only minion I think escaped most major nerfs is Summon Reaper cause it doesn't use Power/Frenzy charges cause spectres are unuseable in that build.
