0 Min of PoE since 15th May
I know, we shouldn't compare D3 with PoE, since D3 already official launched, and PoE still in its Closed Beta Stage..
But, as a gamer.. PoE stop hooking me when D3 was available... Will try PoE again when it officially lauched.... |

" QFT Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.

I actully stopped playing this game some months ago because i didnt find the archer fun anymore due to the fact that i had to rush every frenzy charge in the skill tree to stand a chance.
But after trying out diablo 3 and realising what a huge fail it is. Im probably gonna start this game up again and test another class :) |

Archers no longer require rushing every frenzy node, they actually changed that some patches ago.
Personally I havnt played lately either. I was really looking forward to an entire passive tree update and was saddened when the only difference was in the shadows starting area. Currently im playing Shin megami Tensi Devil survivor 2 as I have no interest in D3 and found out it came out some months ago. Chaos Is Life, Life Is Chaos, Control Is An Illusion.
Thanks Maetaphor for my Beta Key :) |

It seems to me like D3 was designed to be short, sweet, and mindless fun. I think it succeeded, and I had a lot of fun playing through normal difficulty. I expect people to get bored with D3 rather quickly. The itemization is lacking. There is no need to make new characters of the same class. Bnet 2.0 lacks a community feeling because most of the social components have been stripped away (trading, game name lists, 4 player game cap, empty chat channels).
Path of Exile is designed to reward long term strategy and provide enjoyment for years. Character experimentation comes at a price, but it also is more rewarding. The pvp is designed to be competitive, rather than casual. The league system provides even more ways for people to experiment over time. Diablo 3 is like a really sweet desert. It's great, but you can only eat so much of it before you get sick of it and look for something else. Path of Exile is like a good steak dinner; it's tasty and you'll enjoy having the meal for years to come. |

God D3 is awesome, I hope it quieted down a lot of the kids saying it wasn't going to be good.
I am sure they will whine about lack of pvp but when that comes out be silenced again. ^^ Oh look I am a beta member now too, trying to find my PoE shortcut :O |

" can i borrow your account? atleast until you find the shortcut. i want to finish act 2 |

The more we play D3, the better it might be for PoE once they launch. Itemization is a botch job in D3. Not really sure what they were thinking with that. It will take a long, long time for them to fix it. PoE at least learned the lessons which D2 learned (balance uniques for endgame, allow uniques to enable and enhance focused builds, etc.). D3 is only DPS and Health.

How amusing. A thread where I can finally say, without irony, sarcasm or malice, 'see you at launch.'
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |
