there is no way they let sentinel into the core game

Probably due to the determiistic crafting in both. Even if that part is vastly different, it is the only thing I could see that would tie them together.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

I'm struggling to see from a technical/implementation point of view. First, sentinel slots clutter inventory UI. Perhaps one slot instead of three would work.

Second, other mechanics that made it to the base game are RNG in their nature - you have a chance to see Breach, Delirium Mirror, Smuggler's Cache in your maps. Of course you can force certain events via Scarabs and Atlas passives.

But sentinels are strange in that regard because they are not random. As long, as you have a sentinel equipped you can use it in any map - like forever (swapping empty sentinels for full ones of course) Or they would need to drop as rarely as Exalteds. Maybe it's just me, but somehow they don't seem to fit and are not in line with other mechanics. I hope this wasn't too confusing.

Anyways no hate against sentinels. For me the more - the merrier. But I'm just not seing it. As a temporary toy - sure. As a permanent thing? Doesn't really seem to fit into the game.

This one is the real problem with sentinel in core. It’s a very cool mechanic but it doesn’t play nicely with the low effort integration strategy.
You guys are making currency? i must be hitting alt 12 or something

haha you must be doing something wrong, still sane exile?
Still sane exile?
Real men play standard.
Seems kind of obvious that Sentinel is an easy modern refresh 1:1 replacement for Tormented Spirits, no?

Sentinel isn't deterministic, its just a high odds slot machine instead of the usual extremely low odds we are told is crafting.

I like it, but where it does have similarity with Harvest is its completely broken when traded/leveraged with currency. Its power is right for the common pleb, its outrageous if you have 1000 exalts to make an item with. As a result it will get gutted lol
I think the currency should go core, but not be too common, it will overshadow other crafting methods, I'd rather use them alongside existing content. They have helped me get much better gear this league and allowed me to advance my build myself which feels great. You can restrict Mirrored, Corrupted, Split, and Fractured items if they're too OP, maybe introduce a Tainted Recombinator which works similarly to a Tainted Oil

Sentinel has been the most enjoyable league for me and the most time I spent on PoE. I'm not experienced with meta crafting yet and don't have the currency to buy much better items so I don't usually get very far and feel that any build I was playing before was struggling. When you give players more access to currency in league, it also means that the ones who usually have a lot, now have even more. It pushes prices up, you are still relatively poor by comparison and better items can still remain out of reach. Recombinators are risky, fun, and necessary

It would be good to see recombinators included in Betrayal - Immortal Syndicate if going core. Replace Guff's timed crafts with the opportunity to combine 2 items. This will give players and The Forbidden Trove service providers more usable options and more to chase

I don't feel that anyone uses Guff, he's always listed as a bad option in every league, I don't enjoy this mechanic, mainly because of the timer. Let's get rid of the timed crafts and have the rewards system similar to Hillock's:

________________
Transportation: T3 Combine 2 weapons, T4 drops 4 weapon recombinators
Fortification: T3 Combine 2 amour items, T4 drops 4 armour recombinators
Research: T3 Combine 2 Jewelry items, T4 drops 4 jewelry recombinators
Intervention: T3 Drops a random recombinator, T4 drops 1 tainted recombinator/ 4 random scarabs

great idea.
