2 seconds is actually fairly long to tank that, so that isn't anything unusual. In fact its pretty much normal to be unable to tank anything thats "difficult" for longer than a couple of seconds when in merciless unless you khaoms.

Its the result of damage being buffed to just ridiculous levels, and why everyone is speccing completely into defense (because you need at least a single second to react to anything that may happen)

I don't think the problem is Kaom's relative to other life-affix chests; I think the problem is that the life affix on chests is too strong, so strong that it's almost the only thing that matters on them. Your suggestion does nothing to tackle the real problem; if anything, it makes it worse.

With just 4 links on my 2h sword my Heavy strike dps On my 73 duelist is 17,411. With just 4 links in my boots my Leap slam is 5k aoe. The 0 sockets in kaoms doesnt effect me at all. What does effect me.. is the fact that i have over 6000life and cannot be killed. I have so much life i do not endure elemental status ailments like others do. I do not worry about reflect because my health pool can handle it paired with my 20% leech.

Kaom's needs to be nerfed.

No scrotie is right, this isn't an issue with Khoams. The only reason Khaom's is so strong is because it exploits the current issues in the game. Yes it is a strong item, its also ridiculously rare.

PoE needs to make it so that non life builds are just as strong as your khaoms with a 2h sword is, and this is an issue with life builds in general (amongst other things)

So let me see if I understand your argument.

You have a very good, functional, powerful build.

Therefore, it must be destroyed?

We understand life is a little overpowered across the board. It's not just Kaom's, it's the passive tree, and the affix on rares too. However, since it's across the board, it doesn't make sense to give a targeted nerf a unique that happens to have a major drawback -- I don't care what you say, no sockets on a chest is a biggie. Instead, attack the big-picture problem.

If they drastically change HP on kaom's, they'd likely do the Legacy item thing again (oh boy price spike), or there'd be a pretty massive outcry. Also, if they were to change hp throughout the passive tree they'd have to issue respecs galore, which isn't terrible but IIRC they prefer not to do that.

Kaoms have no drawback u can do massive dmg with 4L. I'm againt the nerf they need to remove it for all or keep it as it is.

You made a very good point here.

Kaoms is VERY op, but its also VERY expensive.

Nevertheless it should be nerfed.

Its an absolute joke in my opinion, that kaoms has armor...?

Plz remove armor, thats my suggestion. Andy maybe remove 100 or 200 hp, additionally.

How I see it, nearly everybody here has the same opinion like me.

The bteer solution would probably be to buff rares, like te alrdy said.

Buff current hp on chest with factor 3 would be good i guess. Maximum 300 hp on rare chests

Kaoms should not be in the game.


When I first acquired a Kaoms Heart and put it on two things happened...

- My life tripled.
- I never died on that toon again.


I did not suffer elemental status effects like others did because of high health pool.
I did not worry about reflect because 8k health paired with my maxed leech pretty much made me god in the lands of POE...

Now playing other characters feels weak, under powered, gimped.

Everyone posting here defending Kaoms's probably has one and knows this deep down but wont admit it because they don't really believe in balance. They want their cake and eat it to.
