i think i kno why GGG cant balance
i think its not that GGG cant balance i think GGG dont want to balance..
its very clear now that GGG has chosen their players. . and that they 100% give up not only on new players but also on anyone who isnt the top 1% this entire update is made for elite 1% players either streamers or party play abusers .. |

Well, a lot of the replies here are on point.
But I believe nothing will really change unless GGG decides to scale back two key factors: Damage Mitigation and Life Leech Of course, a lot of other changes would be needed after these two, but those are the core. If you stop to think about it for 2 minutes you'll understand why you can't have builds that are "immortal" or have insane leech. The only way to kill these builds is with insane spike damage or heavy degen. I think some part of a "tank" builds should be moved to active abilities instead of pure stats(maximum resistances should be lower) so that there won't be so much of a need for spike damage. Regarding life leech, I think it should be complimentary for a melee character to not have to constantly keep popping up life flasks(assuming the game was balanced ofc), and not basically you're leeching half your hp now... and now ur dead... it's really that simple:
if you powercreep the items of your game you also need to powercreep the other side. given the power increase of players, a buff to monster power has long been overdue. so ... monster damage in endgame is capped, but the value considers you yo have the latest shit in endgame gear and perfect mitigation. it doesn't make sense to have insane endgame gear in the game if there is no content requiring it. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" There lies the issue: Players that only care about stats and min-max They want to become gods that obliterate anything after aquiring near perfect gear. 10 seconds later they complain that the game is too easy. 10 seconds later they want more power to chase after and become gods again. If the player spends a lot of time perfecting his build than he should expect everything to become easy and then go roll another char... there are hundreds of skills to play with. But no, better to have "One shot fiesta: look at my copied 20M streamer build" of Exile |

" which is a good thing cause players running multiple chars create more demand for items. and it would be even better if players couldn't sell their old gear to just swap to the newest exploit. but how do you motivate players to keep their old gear, there need to be incentives and not limitations. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" I believe you do that by implementing new Uber content. I think there is a sort of a confused underlying expectation of where players expect the limits to be. Uber and infinite scaling content such as delve is for 100% min-max players, the rest could be toned down a bit to allow for less build restriction(re-balance of skill gems and melee vs ranged is also needed ofc). I think that's why Chris wants to implement Hard mode, he realized arpg has mainly two types of players: Role-Players and Min-Max players. Role-Players want to test new ideas and optimize the build as best they can, but the build idea is the priority in this case. They will take a DPS or Defences hit if it means sticking to their idea/skill gem. They really want the game to be about experimentation and not only illusion of choice. Min-Max players is obvious, they want to play what is best and only efficiency matters. Can't really blame them because the game also urges you to do that. I think he also realized that the only way to satisfy both playerbases is to have separate "balance" options. The names also matter... I think a better name for this mode should be "Extreme Mode" "Uber Mode" anything that reminds the player that this new mode is made for builds that go beyond 3M DPS in endgame. " There was a time when no insane endgame gear was required and all you could do was pick up rares on the ground and do all content but that is already long ago when endgame solely consisted out of simple map running. The absolute majority of players won't ever see the best equipment, so GGG can better tell them to forget about doing ultra-juiced mapping and endgame bossing all together. Of course the general public expects to do that as that image is given to them by the streamers. " Actually what you said is true. " I think, Chris wants at least one game mode where the org. PoE comes back to play, where drops did matter and crafting was "adding a stat" and not build a double influenced 7link helmet with insane additional stats beating 99% of all torsos in power. cya Deathtiny

No good game is perfectly balanced. Even board games need some random element to be fun. So they usually use dice. Where one players rolls will always better.
However; this game balances team is on something. Because it sucks balls. It even makes the roll players have to min/max to do anything in this game. Leaving mostly min/max people. It is part of the reason no one plays standard. Where more casually people would naturally be attracted too. You need a bit of imbalance to make a game fun. Everyone wants to be a power house. However; GGG is all about destroying any type of power house all the time. I'll explain why the balance in this game is crap!!! Using my own personal dislike for flask. I hate the idea and concept, and I hate using any flask. And often played the game with no flaks equipped. So when GGG added ways to auto cast them using Instilling Orbs. I thought great now I can make a build where I don't have to use them like a flask. And can treat them like an Item. Of course this requires some planning and other sacrifices. Anyways I got Coruscating Elixir, to Auto cast. And I have my build regening charges even if I don't kill anything. I was Happy to use this instead shav's wrapping. I sacrificed a Jewel slot, Anointment, and 10 passive points for this crap. But this isn't good in the eyes of GGG. So they added a random monster mod that is called "Theif's Grip". That can be given to a mob by spirits. That on hit removes the effect of your flask. And stops it from auto casting at the end of its effect. Like WTF!!! So I get a random mod that will one shot my 1 HP because of how my build works. After finding out about that retarded mod the hard way. I went back to an empty flask bar and am now using shav's wrapping. Because fuck GGG balance. It is not fun to have your build completely bypassed because there is some aspect of it GGG is trying to prevent. Making the game balance absolutely garbage in my opinion. GGG is basically saying Here is a concept we want you guys try. But than punishes you for trying it. As long as GGG have map mods that make it so X build can't even attempt X map. I have no Hope that this balance team will ever improve. It's not even the mobs power creep that bothers me. Its the anti build disabling mods. That make this game even worse than bad balance. To just plain frustrating at times. God even though I hate mavin healing bosses for a 4th of there fucking life bar!!! It still isn't as bad as the crappy build blocking pack mods or map mods. That shit is just plain stupid. And isn't fun for anyone. Unless it doesn't affect your build at all. And what's worse. GGG Seem to do it on purpose. They don't even attempt to balance it. They only care about streamers opinions. Just look how they treat them compared to anyone else. Even allowing them to skip login queues. They don't give a fuck about anyone else. Why do you think they can't? They did good mob balance... to make you suffer a lot.
