Logout macros

Some people will defend the use of logout macros till the day they die. PoE has to be the only game in the world where this is "allowed". It doesn't really matter to me, but I just can't understand it. I've tried - several times, but fail each time.
If GGG does in fact "balance their game around the use of logout macros", why not assign a logout button in the input? Or will someone try to convince me that there's skill involved somewhere? Nah, using a script/macro to automatically log out/escape from dangerous situation, will always be cheating in my eyes, no matter how much the game is "balanced around it". Luckily for many, "my eyes" aren't the important factor here. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

I don't use logout macros.
I lost a race to someone who used logout macros and should have died on the spot. Luckily I don't care too much about levels and league rankings. Heart of Purity

Mostly because all the complaints and arguments are totally valid. A few examples below. *Trade sucks *Loot & Gear progression is totally out of whack *Game optimization is terrible *3rd party tools vs. GGG in-house development *QoL improvements nowhere to be found *TFT and the crafting situation *New player, and casual player hostility *Historical massive pendulum swings in balance and builds *Not enough communication on development strategy. Where is PoE going? "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

" Curious where you get that statistic from. The couple handfuls of streams (basically the ones with the most viewers) that I've watched, none has used automatic logout scripts. By automatic logout script, I assume you mean, health reaches less than like 20% and logs you out. While I know they exist, I personally haven't seen anyone use it on any stream. I don't care if people use logout macro or not, as long as they manually have to send a key press for it to happen. Reason being, its allowed, so why would I be against it. They've said so since day 1. |

" I dont think I'm allowed to list specific streamers by name due to forum rules, but you can easily find videos. Nearly all of them are surprised autologs based on health. Sometimes the logout doesn't save them (sever lag), and sometimes it does. Point is the autolog is engaging, its obvious, and personally imo, ridiculous. " I agree, autolog macro's are pretty stupid, I was basically saying that your statistic is unreasonable and made up and that it's unlikely as widespread as you claim. |

Well ackshually if you had studied hours and hours of videos of people logging out in hardcore, which I have, you would know they are nearly all automated because GGG bad, amirite?
