How to NOT be THAT trading <person>
" Exactly this. The players are being toxic because they're just doing the reasonable thing. GGG set up the system where the reasonable thing to do is toxic. - here's my sig

I hope that you are not "that trade person", one of those pieces of shit that sell things and doesn't reply the whispers...
Btw this Trade system is the worse trash on entire world. Last edited by MildorDArkehn#7296 on Apr 18, 2022, 9:39:13 AM

Define "<person>".

" The reason this logic doesn't fly is that you're trying to blame being a jerk is the systems' fault when the system isn't a living and breathing entity capable of choice. The world isn't fair, but it doesn't magically justify one to break the law. Yep, totally over league play.

" I agree. Just because the system sucks, doesn't mean we have to suck just as badly. If you think the system is bad; be better. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" You can't bse serious. You're implying to respond to eeeeeeeeevery single whisper to say " sold", or to wait "30 seconds" every time you whisper someone for something. Pass? Hard pass? Guess that makes me suck along with the system? I don't even. |

" People definitely can suck - I didn't trade at all during the most profitable time and only bothered to eventually just to make room. If a buyer complains about no one responding, they typically are the type to spam requests until someone invites and are being completely inconsiderate of every person they messaged. Then they wonder why its so hard to get people to respond. Why bother responding if they're not even going to complete the trade (and typically for a pittance at that). I used to feel the need to sell anything worth a chaos or more, but the jerks convinced me it wasn't worth the hassle or the storage. It's really not that hard a concept to understand -- if someone has stuff worth buying and happens to be online, they might be, I dunno, actually playing. As someone who actually plays too, I can be considerate of what its like to be on either end of the trade. Earlier, someone messaged me a few times wanting something but I had literally stepped away from keyboard and had my afk message up - I sent a message when i got back but I didn't expect a response, because that was essentially the response. I wasn't upset or annoyed and I didn't expect them to need it but IN CASE they still did out of courtesy. The night before someone wanted to buy something just as I was logging out, so no response back. Its bound to happen from time to time. I avoid giving no response in case they're potentially waiting. And I know that there can be some major lag between the database updating after a trade. But unless you're getting constantly messaged for listing something low by the flippers you shouldn't be getting too many messages. Its unfortunate that some players are so focused on their experience they disregard anyone else's. But it really does help to limit what you trade to what you're willing to interrupt your general play for. Yep, totally over league play.

" Oh man --- if you guys only knew the pain of having to deal with a third party service and THEIR currency in forum gold as well as player moderators.... Yeah its a pain, by design to make you think twice about whether its worth trading at all. It helps to reduce the overstock and make people decide whether something is even worth picking up in the first place. I mean sure, they could sell items direct but it wouldn't be a player driven economy and defeat the purpose of finding loot in the first place. Yep, totally over league play.
