What burns you out?

Title.

Im levelling a new char, my 4th one, and goddamn its like i havent played this game before. I still want to play the game but making a new char just killed my desire to play for a while. Im trying to level but i cant get my mind off the process and i just have no motivation to level the char. I cant focus on just sticking to a levelling build, im somehow always dissatisfied. I dont mind doing this 2 times but more than that really irks me.

My league starter took 6 hr to get to maps, 2nd about 7h, and my 3rd was 8h, ive played almost 3 hrs and im lvl 31 on my 4th. Im pretty frustrated. Most people take less time to level chars as league goes on but for me its the opposite.

I dont even look at the campaign as part of the game, to me its just 6 - 8 hrs of complete nonsense because i enjoy the part that comes after the campaign. I cant help but see the campaign as a complete waste of time. That gets the burn out rolling because games are supposed to be entertaining (i have a shit ton of gripes about this game but it still entertains me). Knowing you have to spend 6 - 8 (maybe more) hrs to "set-up" to start having any semblance of fun is really demotivating.

Anyway fuck PoE campaign, its trash. PoE2 campaign will be the same, trash. Spending time to make another character in an already tedious game is trash.

When i can't progress basically, If i've got interesting ideas and ways to play them i'm pretty invested in playing but as soon as it becomes 10ex for gear upgrades or buy 10000 fossils etc i'm done

I'm nearly done for this league just gotta do a maven and a UE and i'll call it a day but its been a great one for me.

i burned out ~3years ago and since than i just skip lvling completly and enjoy my life in standard


i have quite abit of gear to mess around, i can sustain t16 maps with ease dont have to redo veiled mods or atlas

have 100+ex in currency and several hundreds in gear


if i wanna play a build i use my gear from stash / test it and if i like it i craft better gear :) if i dont like it i go back to my bower speed maper



if i do trading its jsut for scarabs/chisel and so on, easy life <3

Additional chars should be faster since you have currency, gear, and lab trials done. Twink yourself out and blow through it.

This. Tabula/Wildwrap, Dex-Stacking with one with nothing, Astramentis and lets to, campaign done in 3 hours. Then breachstones and 5ways,5 hours til 95.

Yea thank god for hollow palm, this is mostly just me venting my immense dislike of the campaign because regardless of whether its 3 or 8 hrs to me its a waste of time and its hard to see it as anything else. Its one of the things that irk me about this game that actually has a significant effect on my enjoyment of this game.

I guess i just need another perspective or any justification for the campaign because otherwise its just another waste of time. It always circles back to why is this part of the game. Doing campaign 2 - 3 times is more than enough. I kinda miss the 3 acts because the only thing that changes there is numeric values.

I love Acts 1-4... Those acts provide such an amazing experience. I think it's a combination of starting out with a low level character and the fact that thosw acts are just great experiences in themselves.

Acts 5-10 are painful though. I feel like they are a slog. Not sure if it's because the acts simply repeat themselves, or if simply they were rushed and not designed as great thematically... But yeh I LOVE 1-4... But 5-10 is painful.

The feeling of falling behind inflation burns me out instantly. Was excited to build a complete CoC FR character and Grasping Mails were around 50ex at the time. When I farmed up 50ex they were 75ex. Now they're 125ex. Nope. I'll just be happy with my Skin of the Lords and accept having less defenses and an imperfect character.

that does sounds more tempting every league tbh,. sad thing is that new leagues gives u more looties to play with. without the new possible gear i probably play standard as well. still don't though i want em new looties tht might or might not become legacy :')
