You do realize that threshold isn’t very high? Most publishing contracts only ask either a fixed small amount or a % of direct revenue from reporting of about a 5% commission. All Steam and console Poe are responsible for is download portals. They don’t even directly host the game. Their overhead is cheap.
What I realize is that you're throwing around generalizing statements without pointing to actual Steam contracts that would back you up on that.

Neither you nor I have access to those, and you know it. The only thing we can do is research the general practice. That IS generally accessible.
Ok. Can you at least show me some examples of Steam pulling a game because it wasn't profitable enough? You'd easily be able to find those because Steam would have had some backlash over that by now.
Not bad, net cash and good cash conversion. Looks like most of the drop in profit is due to an one off amortization as well. Could probably do another 100m distribution like they did in FY19, that means Tencent probably already got their cash back and could double it in cash return perspective given the balance of their shareholder equity and cash position right now.

Probably trade on market for 750m right now. Man if Tencent did a leveraged buyout and sold it now their equity return would of been an average 160-170% return per annum...not bad.

Profits don't make a game good.

Looks more like 10% to 12%, but thats still quite low and a good rating.

Poeple always tend to post more negatives, but very rarely post positive ones (most of them if we like something - we just rnjoy and don't post reviews)

Did you miss the fact the highest supporter package is up $120? They will still make the same.

They also have 2 new stash tabs everyone wants, that even migratory players will buy.

Well. As someone said. Profit of 2021 went down 20% compared to previous year. Even with the price increasing of the supporter pack. Nice of you to point out. And all this loss comes from 3.15 alone since the report ends in 30th Sept.

GGG will continue to experience revenue decline and a drop in player activity if they continue with the same formula they've been for years now. I know I stopped playing after the second week in 3.17 due to lack of rewarding goals as I do not belong in the market they were targeting. I do not play the game in softcore to chase 36-38 challenges.

From the 100+ million revenue they generated in this annual report $10 of it was mine :), and based on how appealing normal mode will be I'll vote with my wallet. Given how we are a month into 3.17 already, where today it's Friday and nothing is happening in terms of events I can say things are pretty bad, but then again I wasn't surprised.

This can't be right. PoE has allegedly been dying for years. Lost Ark and Elden ring were allegedly the nails in the coffin that finally killed PoE. How can they make money on an allegedly dead game that no one cares about?

I don't understand.

Don't worry I'm sure team Well Ackshually will be along shortly to set you straight.

:)))

This is the clear winner of the thread, we can all go home now :D

Yes. Clearly a 20% drop in profit is a no big deal. Game will still be alive and kicking. Hurrah.

Except.... profit didn't go down 20%.

2020 Profit: $51 mil.
2021: $49 mil.

2/51 = 3.9215% Decrease in profits.

The Tabs and new supporters are post reporting year, so they will reflect in next year's financial statement.

I personally spent $530 on POE in the month of February.
