2021 GGG profit = 45 mil NZD (31 mil USD) after taxes.

Except.... profit didn't go down 20%.

2020 Profit: $51 mil.
2021: $49 mil.

2/51 = 3.9215% Decrease in profits.

The Tabs and new supporters are post reporting year, so they will reflect in next year's financial statement.

I personally spent $530 on POE in the month of February.

My bad for not checking the number before reiterate something. But apparently you didn't either. Noice.

So someone saw almost 10mil drop. But in fact it's about 7mil. Around 13% drop in profit then. Correct me if I'm wrong. (Im no financial wizard.) It shows how hyperbole both camps are. lol

And thanks for sponsoring the game for us btw.

I see what you mean.

To be fair though, the report ends on 30th Sept 2021. So it's still not the whole 2021 year either, right?

Nah, the well known forum cryhard reduced to posting on a smurf account because they embarassed themselves so often on their main account.

Okay. Guilty for believing numbers people quoted from the statement(which aren’t in the statement). I should have looked myself.

What’s interesting to me is the $3 mil adjustment between the 2020 ending statement, and the beginning of the 2021 statement for 2020. That’s too large to be adjusted unrealized gains, for the size of the company.
It appears there was an audit correction to expenses that raised profit and therefore taxes from the increased retention.

It’s worth noting: both years blow 2019 out of the water, which suggests the game is healthy.

Wrong, this is still a fiscal year going from 01/10/2020 to 30/09/2021.

I see. Thanks for clarifying.

Thanks Aldora_the_Summoner too.

That is correct, but it is also After taxes.
GGG spent 17.5 million in taxes in 2021 vs 26.5 million in 2020.

Page 3
Profit before taxes 2020 $80,474,141
Profit before taxes 2021 $62,370,829
Change in profit - $18,103,312
22.5% Drop in profit from 2020 to 2021 before taxes.

The $18 million drop in profit before taxes is consistent with the $18 million dollar drop in cash from customers. However ...

One thing I didn't notice in this thread (apologies if I missed it) is that in 2020 there were a lot more restrictions on people getting out of their homes. A lot more people stuck inside their homes means more potential revenue for gaming companies, streaming services, online ordering etc. The differences between 2019, 2020 and 2021 would paint a better picture of how GGG is growing or not.

When you can generate this type of revenue from just one game and every year it's why more should get involved in this industry. Path of Exile at the end it's just AA game, far from AAA with its own niche player base.

There are several things here:

1) We've already discussed the fact the post originators posted some fallacious numbers.

$49 mil isn't a number anywhere in the actual report.

2) Your conversation about EBIT is obviously designed to counter my original statement (which has since been amended) by trying to use before tax numbers. That's still not a fair assessment, so I wouldn't do it!

The Earnings reduction after taxes still has a delta of over 17%, so the 20% argument is still relevant (again.... someone posted false summaries of the data).

3) yes. I did point out that revenue from both 2020 and 2021 far surpasses 2019, which suggests the game is just fine. In 2021, GGG borrowed a lot less as well, which means their remittances are steady and allow cash flow liquidity.
