The Maven fight needs to be fixed.
" Getting ground degen at the same time as a boss that has something like the bone barrier around you, or has a silence/snare, thats pretty RNG/luck. At the end of day, beating Maven doesnt feel exciting, its just 'thank god I dont have to interact with this content anymore'. I would get rid of ground degens or make them last 10-15 seconds. Get rid of the memory game and weird lazer maze. Add more boss battles with increased hp, making maven more of a collector. Have the mavens attacks deal more damage, she shouldnt be so easy to tank through it. If you die to maven, you usually die to her arena, which just feels lame, not her. |

" already droppt gmp and multistrike for me :P and you farm crucible with shaper/elder mapbosses, easy and fast Current Build: Penance Brand

"all end game bosses are bullet hell so they all punish bad movement and its really annoying for melee imp since they can't just dps from afar while having easier time avoiding the bullshit |

Maven is probably the BEST designed fight in the game and requires next to NO luck as long as you have a movement skill or quicksilver flask (as all builds should). It's 100% skill and memory. Last phase can be frustrating to learn with the beams, and I used to just accept that I'm going to die once to that memory game, but after you stop being overly-scared of the beams you can do it consistently.
I find Uber Elder has far more "wtf was that BS" deaths especially when Shaper blasts you with the gg beam while Elder is doing the ring of death. Last edited by Anomaly33#2899 on Mar 2, 2022, 12:48:48 AM

" So (not trying to troll you, honest question) you primarily seem to like ground degens across the arena, fighting arena laser beams, and playing Simon? Aside from that, Maven is just a few projectile spells. So that is what you enjoy? (Thats totally valid! Ive just never heard anyone say that before, ever.) "You need to be aware when they come out and place them in the middle. There will still be a little bit sticking out but it's mostly a non-factor. "Very telegraphed and easy to avoid with a movement skill "Yes :) I think this is the most creative mechanic they've done. Can understand why some people hate it but at least it's something other than the move to avoid projectiles or don't stand in bad AoE on ground that just about every other mechanic in the game can be summed up as. People that complain about the memory game just show how low their IQ is. Seriously, it's a sequence of 6 that is visually presented, to make it even easier.
If they mess up their arena with degen everywhere, again, it shows their inability to learn how to fight Maven properly. Last edited by brunowa#6253 on Mar 2, 2022, 2:11:48 AM

I personally just wish she wouldn't teleport so much in the last phase.
with a melee build it's kinda hard to follow her, which makes the fight longer >> more memory games which are a quite aweful with all the beams (assuming you can even see where you have to go) |

" The memory game issue - for me - is that the arena is a shit show of effects and minions and buffs and all the other clutter that makes actually seeing the zones highlighted extremely difficult. It has nothing to do with my IQ. And I can still have the opinion that the fight is pretty lame. |

" Exactly this. As I said in an earlier post, I was quite good at the real Simon Says game. It's not memorizing things in the memory game that's the problem for me. It's seeing which sectors have flashed purple. And I have that problem when all I'm doing is watching other people play. The visuals are simply not designed well enough for me. It has nothing at all to do with my memory. |
