Why people dont play on hardcore?

The "start HC and drop to SC when you die" process is what lead to a lot of the HC superiority syndrome that was so toxic to the community for years. "You play SC" was basically an implication that you're not good enough at the game to continue on in the "default" HC league, and that you should feel shame playing in the inferior league, whether you enjoy it more or not.

I'm glad most of that sentiment is gone, although there's still some of it lingering. I would hate to see it reinvigorated. HC challenge league players who enjoy playing HC for HC's sake don't need the incentive of dropping to SC challenge league on HC death, and neither do SC players.

If there is any of that sentiment left, it is HC SSF players mocking HC Trade players.

HC is/was enjoyable because items that drop there, which are seen as inferior on SC, can still be considered somewhat good and can be sold for a handful of currency.

Standard is like the complete opposite of the spectrum, displaying insane mirror-tier items that you will never see on HC. In standard everything revolves around mirror items and magebloods. It is literally a piggybank for TFT. And I bet this travesty is one of the reason for GGG developing hardmode.

POE 2 is designed primarily for console.
I don't think i've ever seen a HCSSF player mocking a HC trade player it really isn't that, those groups are pretty interchangeable anyway depending on what their league goals are.
Don't have the time anymore, I guess. Used to play D2 HC back in the days while studying, but that's a long time ago. Now, with work, soon-to-be married and other obligations, HC just don't let me enjoy what I enjoy within my time schedule.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
i build a char that can double tank afk wave 30 simulacrum bosses and still get random death in maps.......searching for wtf killed me here ?

game was once balanced for hardcore now its softcore powercreep with gazillion projectiles...so what

watch kripps latest video he explains it really well

no real reason to waste time in hc in this game anymore

just casual fun every league enough to make me come back

HC is a much better experience for poe if have time and mentality to handle it. That is however not for everyone. But if you can then softcore becomes meaningless very quickly.
If I had the time, I would play more of the semi-HC that POE has. I love the additional challenge. The problem is I own and run a business, have kids, and other obligations. I rarely have time to play each league fully. Maybe get 2-3 characters to mid 90s. Last league was one!!
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
Because HCSSF exists, I tried trade this league again after years of playing SF and it's more dead than my ssf lol. It also gets progressively worse to play HC league by league and ggg doesn't really seem to care.
HC balance should be separate from SC I don't care which outdated 1993 game dev philosophy this goes against. youtube/twitch.tv/DESPAIR268

REVERT SUNDER :) REVERT SEISMIC CRY :) REVERT IMPALER :) REVERT GAME :)) MAKE DUALWIELD GREAT AGAIN :)
cause the game has BS deaths even watching the pros that are not comunicated or cannot be responded to.

lets be honest here the game is designed around Log out macros it has been said in the past.
I am your Devine one Bow before me
the funny part about poe hc is,that some sc players are "more hardcore" than some hc players

what i mean with this is,all sc players i know dont run a "logout macro"

on the contrary i have seen hc players not even attempting boss mechanics and logging out when things slightly go wrong

im not saying using a logout macro is wrong, but for me it kinda defeats the purpose of playing hardcore

using a logout macro simply isnt fun for me and without it,poe is very punishing/time consuming
i dont like running from fights in poe,so i dont do it but ofc that means i sometimes die with my charr when i make mistakes

a game is all about having fun and if you are having fun thats all that matters
