Why people dont play on hardcore?
" Its actually the opposite. SC players are the vegans. In HC people accept facts. If your build suck you die, a disc is like a bad referee decision. You swallow the pill. SC players complain all time about death penalty, cant accept fact that their build sucks. Like vegans who really believe its the healthiest diet in the world. |

" I always play Hardcore and I'm disgusted by the undead mode that most people play, mainly Latinos, most of them are afraid of putting themselves to the test... I notice that the English are more hardcore. But when it comes to giving a good opinion you have to be honest. They should remove the Hardcore mode and that in the non-Hardcore mode if one dies they are forced to kill all the bosses that they already killed and that are now in the underworld, and kill them. The bosses will have the same level of the character and are more intelligent and difficult to defeat, until they are defeated it will not be possible to return to the body that is between life and death and this same body has a certain time by which it can be saved . Whoever bothers to go to the underworld, to recover the body that was humiliated... must ask himself if he is afraid of overcoming difficult challenges. |

Played standard and league for a very long time, tried HC Expedition and all i can say is that i rather stub my toe in every furniture in my house than having to experience HC again.
You basically listed every reason that makes HC the most boring and egregious PoE experience ever. Doesn't matter that i have the "fortitude" to endure it or the "experience" required, if i die because of game design issues or lag, even with a baby proof build, I'll just play SC or something that i actually enjoy doing and not waste my time getting frustrated over nothing. I'm gonna say why - from my own perspective, I might be wrong of course but this is my genuine opinion...
Why I don't play hardcore? Well, I'd say because it is not worth it. (TLDR) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why? Well, some players look for a challenge and I guess this is why they are playing hardcore. When I hear about hardcore I kind of think of it as though this is another job, not to mention that PoE in itself might become a second job for you because the game itself is not very easy to understand/master. When I play games I want to relax and enjoy. Hardcore mod just means that all you had and achieved just might disappear in a matter of moments - DC, bad internet, LAG, a simple mistake or someone distracts you. I don't want to come into the game and be shaking every moment not to f*ck up. I could say that HC is like a cross. Imagine runners preparing for a run, then one of them pulls out a gun and shoots himself in the leg thus just making this cross harder. Will he get a reward that is multiplied by 3,5,10? No not really I don't think in real life he would be running at all :D So my point is HC is just not worth the burden. You are not getting more loot, or better rewards, or more XP. Literally nothing. I'm not sure what you would be trying to prove with HC since I DON'T CARE. I really don't wanna be rude but I think that HC players just f*ck themselves up by making things harder with no real return. And no one frankly cares that they do something in HC. Thrill - yes, maybe? Worth it? - 0 / nothing ... HC is like a casino with a big difference. In casino you actually might win something substantial. In HC you win nothing. Just a waste of time. HC should be reworked with better rewards or something, then it would make sense. I don't have as much time to try to prove something that no one cares about, complete waste is HC in my opinion. New mute system is terrible - no trade... Last edited by y3lw0rC#4020 on May 7, 2022, 12:36:05 AM

HC is for narcissists ;)
@Topic: I used to play hardcore because all of my friends did but I agree that it is a waste of time. I would play HC if the chars would be transferred to the challenge league after death instead of being transferred to standard league. I think GGG does not want too many players to play HC because that would put even more focus on how poorly balanced the game is. Last edited by Zottelfisch#6506 on May 7, 2022, 2:38:12 AM

Because HC players all moved to SSF HC. All the former HC streamers like raiz steel and stuff all moved to SSFHC too.
If you're gonna be HARD go real hard I guess is the thinking. I don't play anymore because rewards same SC and HC. Back in the day you had two different reward systems and two different leagues mechanics, which made it interesting to try. PLus the best mechanics were all HC - like Beyond. I don't even play SC barley anymore. Game is old and been there done that. So no way restarting over and over in HC if I actually manage to play Git R Dun! because this game has evolved in a way that encourages softcore play. I've personally played hcssf for a bit to check it out but it involves a lot of logging out & avoiding certain types of content, which I didn't like. Also, the monster damage is extremely spiky and PoE being 100% online means that you could very often die through no fault of your own.
HC was meaningful for something like D2 because the base game wasn't that challenging & you had infinite attempts to do any boss/encounter without any penalty. PoE already has a punishing system for all endgame content - limited no. of map portals. So even on SC, there's always that risk of failing an encounter if you make mistakes. |

" Not only different reward drops but the drops themselves were tied to the duration of the league. Because of complaints, all league specific uniques were included in the general drop table. Heart of Purity
