Lost Ark is POE Killer

Got it. So the key to keeping idiots away from PoE is to lie to them.

Or show 1% game balance or exalted drop script for streamers for they.
Lost Ark looks like a fuzzy game for casuals
Not really a competitor for PoE
The only PoE killer is PoE itself.

I've spent over 70 hours on Lost Ark just trying to do all the hidden quests and tourist and drop quests for the Adventure log just in Rethramis. Just for a few items, extra stat points, and tokens to buy things at a specialty shop. I'm still not done, and there are 16 or so major regions which the same kind of stupid grinds.

The game is a pure pain in the ass for very little but pivotal reward.

Dude. Different people have different ideas of what Competition is.

Some people think that competition has to be in the same exact genre.
Some people think that 2 games having the same tags makes them the same genre.
Some people think that competition is about timing of releases.
Some people think that competition is a broader concept and that technically anything is competition (even if it isn't a game, but uses the same TIME or Money for a gamer).

All are correct and wrong at the same time, except for the last one.

When someone mentioned Cyberpunk 2077 as an announced delay for POE's Ritual Expansion, that was a perfect example of this. The games have nothing in common at all, but Chris announced a deferral of their release because of it. Why? The release dates were 2 weeks before Christmas, and Christmas spenders MAKE them competition, because they will choose to use Gift cards on one or the other, whereas for the rest of the year, Cyberpunk's only competitive connection to POE is that gaming shares one pool of potential players that are finite.

Even the need to raise a family and mow a lawn and go to work is Competition for POE.
GGG got tencent on their back . poe will never died .
Doesn't matter what genre the games are, when they are competing over the same players. And to a certain degree, they are. Just logged on to Twitch the other day, just to see the whole PoE lineup was playing Lost Ark. Was Lost Ark ever going to kill PoE? Of course not. Are those streamers representative for every PoE player? Of course not. Is PoE doomed? Of course not.

But it will be interesting to see how long Lost Ark can hold their attention. Might even be more money streaming Lost Ark, considering the numbers that game is putting out. Again: For. How. Long.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
i'd think it was a financial choice for some streamers, new lucrative market though as you say for how long who knows.

They should write some guides and get them SEO'd properly though because the current ones for many categories are garbage tier articles repeated on 40 platforms that don't actually answer the question they have in the title.

Why do you think that tencent bought PoE in order to funnel money INTO it, instead of the other way round?
The moment PoE is not profitable anymore, tencent will drop it.
