LA is the worst MMO i have ever played. Comparing it with poe just blatant false advertising. The ONLY thing they have in common is perspective view.

It will be interesting to see how many people will still play LA in a few weeks when it is no longer the new news…

" Well, this is how Steam classified the two games: POE GENRE: Action, Adventure, Free to Play, Indie, Massively Multiplayer, RPG Lost Ark GENRE: Action, Adventure, Free to Play, Massively Multiplayer, RPG The only difference between the two is the Indie tag for POE. We need to notify Steam that they misclassified POE or Lost Ark, ASAP. Gutting Gameplay Gradually Last edited by zakalwe55#2432 on Feb 16, 2022, 3:04:02 AM

" Or you care more about vague labels than actual gameplay, target market, pay strategy/integration, combat style, quest style, skill style, scope, travel type, gear type, etc? Resident Evil VIIIage has almost all the same tags as well. Is RE VIIIAGE in direct competition with POE? |

Steam throttles DL at 5 MB/sec, and actively guzzles RAM. Hence why I use my Control Center for POE vs playing some laggy third party Steam for it. Steam does okay on single player games like RE: VIIIage but it's horrendous for optimizing MMORPGs. For reference: the only things my machine falls behind on vs modern high end gaming computers: framerate. I can get a screen up to 144 mhz but it was shipped at 60mhz, which is fine, doesn't overheat, etc. |

" False, Resident Evil Village does not have the same tags as well. Resident Evil Village only has the Genre: Action tag. Based on this, Resident Evil Village is not in direct competition with POE. You have NO credibility. Gutting Gameplay Gradually

" It's an MMO, people always are hyped for MMOs since WoW, and everytime they quickly leave the boat because it's terrible once the new shiny stuff effect is gone, tbh, WoW was just an incident, MMOs always were niche and always will be, people do not understand their essence and always want to see it the way they're not. Ironically, you could sum things like this : What people deeply dream of : play Skyrim, TW3 and other RPG with friends in co-ops. What they get : terribly repetitive endgame loops ("hey, pvp or raid ?") with thousands of "saviour or our worlds" heroes with copy/pasta stuff. And we'll never have a true co-op RPG, so people will keep on falling for traps like New World or Lost Ark. Now is the stage where hardcore early fans spams forum with "BUT LA HAS INSANE POTENTIAL AND ENDGAME IF BLABLABLA", let's wait a few months for them to remember what a korean MMO is. We can say a lot of things about POE, but the current state of the game is better than it always was, and it's honest when pretending to be an Arpg with crapload of mobs to instantly bash. Both games are different, Poe is honest, GGG's marketing speech also is about this. LA's is an honest game, but their marketing isn't, very much thanks to good old trashy AF "amazing liars" Amazon. " Pardon me. But I can not agree with you on this. GGG had shown time and again they just care about hype and hype for new league on release. Did you forget about the recent hidden nerfs disguising as buffs? At the end of the day, all companies care about their bottom line. So don't pretend GGG is any different. |

" Generally agree with a lot of this, but (I hate I'm doing this) I have to say; there were very real economic reasons that WoW was a success (even though I never played it, hated it, and chose to play Guild Wars instead). Warcraft had: -A Pre-existing action/RPG/Simulator player base with the successes of Diablo > Warcraft I/II/III and Starcraft, in a vacuum where online gaming didn't have any real competitors in this sector. Most WoW players didn't start out as MMORPG players coming from games like Everquest or Elder Scrolls; they were Blizzard/Warcraft veterans who already subscribe to the franchise. There's no better market building tool that a pre-existing community. -Pioneer in MMORPG presence among 3-D role playing. When you are the first of something, and take that gamble, the rewards are massive. Guild Wars didn't release until 2 years after WoW, and was literally the only direct competition that WoW had in this field. There was a massive demand for MMORPGs of quality, and the first entry into a category has absolutely no problems cornering 1/2 or better of the potential market for the product, and it takes a LONG time for that community to siphon off and find games that satisfy their diverse interests better. It wasn't until we started seeing things like Shaiya/Perfect World and shortly after, Tera, that WoW had real competition (and Shaiya/Perfect World weren't QUALITY competitors, but they offered something WoW didn't: Free Play) There will probably never be another World of Warcraft. There may be one in virtual gaming, but for flat screen games, that's over. The web of ideas is just too abundant now for that to ever happen again. |
