endless delirium...
Polish and development/play-testing resources are supply-side issues. There is only one demand-side issue: do I like this product or not?
Often the (unfair imo) argument is made that GGG only care about pleasing streamers, they don't care about the casual masses. Well, even that doesn't hold good for this event. I haven't seen anybody enthuse about it. Not on Reddit, not on this forum, not any of the 9 or 10 streamers who I have watched since the event began. Everybody is unanimous that it's an overtuned drag that is neither fun nor rewarding to play. So there's that. I am sorry that there are people who will not hear a negative word about PoE or GGG and react badly to it. And equally that there are people who will not hear a positive word about PoE or GGG and react badly to it. But I am in neither of those camps. After Atlas Invasion, I started a thread here thanking GGG for what I felt was a really fun and rewarding event. This event, I have the opposite view and feel they missed the mark entirely. As a customer, giving my honest demand-side view is all that I can do. The supply-side factors are of no concern to me. |

" Sure enough, it's their problem but even if we say that, expectations should be kept tastefully within the boundaries of reason. And, strictly as a customer, if I have to choose between a more polished week-long voided event and more polished next league, I'll pick the league any day, despite playing most events at least a little. And we do have to choose, unless we assume that GGG has limitless resources. " Or simply don’t offer a half assed event if you can’t meet minimum quality expectations? We shouldn’t have to choose between a 50% effort product and having a good future product from the same company. It seems kind of obvious they released these events because the main league was going to be delayed several weeks due to people taking vacations. Yes dev time spent on adjusting this league will take away 1 day of working on the next league. However, they’re willing to take multiple weeks off during the busiest expansion month of the year so I imagine 1 extra day isn’t going to cause much harm. |

" Sure, and by that logic, we could just not play half-assed events, that would be just as if they didn't have them in the first place. But I like them for what they are, and it goes back to chris slapping together darkshrine in his spare time just to fill a timeslot before next major expansion. You can look at it like playing a mod, really, and some do feel like that. I can imagine two dudes with access to the code going "You know what would be cool as hell? A random wild Shaper in mud flats. Let's do it". Maybe some take them more seriously, but if they asked me, I wouldn't take 3 hours more than I absolutely had to off the next league development for these. " That’s your opinion and perspective and that’s okay. But doesn’t seem like you play all that much to begin with and you’ll have to realize that there are definitely varying degrees of players. I respect you feel that way but completely disagree. My opinion is that it should have been balanced rewards vs difficulty and some sort of testing involved getting it into a “fun” state. |

" Sure, that's just the way I see these, they're there for bored players that are done with the league this way or the other, and some of the events certainly weren't for everyone, like the gauntlet. I could even say they're more fun when they're messy, like the atlas invasion for instance, shav's slam could've been scaled properly but it wasn't, so you get these 'oh crap' moments and laugh it off easily because it's just a weekly event. Regular leagues, though, that shit should be licked spotless like a ballroom shoe, and even a few extra hours of testing might dig out something you wouldn't want people to deal with. Sadly, they're often pretty spotty, and I don't think anyone enjoys that. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

so apparently it get better when you're in maps but i cant bring myself to go through the story mode again. atlas invasion was enough.
these events should really start at maps. |

" Not true, you still only get 1 reward thing no matter the % of delirium. Super lame and boring. |

Absolutly garbage, left b4 finished act 1.
I'm fine with events that are not for everybody, but this one can't be fun for anyone... Delirium usualy is a great leaguemechanic, but there has to be a delirious cap or something in story, it's just anoying if it takes 5 min to kill a 4-Monster-Mob... (as well as to have to use a portalscroll every 2 mobs, to get new flaskcharges in town.) Maybe much less Pods to spawn Mobs, so that it would be possible to avoid them, would be a way to make it work better. |

This has to be GGG's idea of a sick joke. Seriously 76% delirium first Kintava, while he's randomly dropping down prema freeze AoE. How anybody ever finished the main game in hardcore I will never know. Several of these bosses and mini bosses with outrageously high delirium and then stupid other effects is beyond dumb.
There is a fine line between making something challenging, and making something miserable. GGG missed this one and a lot of the other events big time. Pretty sad day for GGG when most of their streamers are streaming competing games because they find your events a waste of time. I have a feeling once some of these other games get a full release you won't find a PoE streamer worth watching. |
