endless delirium...

Maybe people just forgot what these event are supposed to be. They're supposed to be madcap, maybe even totally unreasonable, they're supposed to give you a different playthrough from the ones you already did hundreds of times, and, most importantly they're supposed to take as little development time as possible. What they aren't supposed to be is a polished experience, they can be, but it isn't really necessary.

By those standards, this is a perfectly normal challenge event.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

I think event demonstrates that GGG has created a game too complicated and too messy for GGG themselves to fix.

I suggest a radical simplification at many levels

Polished - no.
Playable - that's a reasonable expectation.
GGG thinks that acts are fun to play for the 5000th time.
GGG thinks that it is fun to make them harder and Roa is end game monster.
GGG thinks that it is fun to run low acts with end-game delirium level with 2 link gems.

Stop wasting people's time and patience in those god-forsaken Acts.

It doesn't have to be a polished experience but it's not high expectations to expect a balanced one. Especially for a challenge event.

The problem being is that a 10% delirious map is always the better choice when compared to a 100% delirious map.

Risk vs Reward. At the very least they could have done testing to verify this was balanced.

Nah, why. We do that for them and the mid-event patch is a solution.

If they patch this mid-event all good but my concern is that they don't.

Then it's basically a special event nobody wants to play.
At least this is a good indication, showing how clueless people are that just want PoE to be harder than it is already.

Not good enough for me when I work 4 days with no time to play and then have a few days left to do something. And most of that time in such events is in those god damn acts and acts and acts.

Same with the stupid twitch drop window. By the time back from work, not enough time to watch the stream and get them.

Playtesters are a necessity lately for GGG. Seems like they have none and the same devs can't do everything by themselves. That is physically impossible.

Well, 'polished' and 'balanced' goes against the 'as little development time as possible'. I mean, they do these events for those that are bored of the league already, they don't mean much in the grand scale and it's much better to put their time in developing and testing the next league. As long as we don't have randomly spawning herds of albino rhoas that spawn possessed shapers with their basic attack, it's good enough.
