Gladiator actually got WTF buffed giga hard and almost everyone else got massively pwned

I don't think eating a nerf on VC is a buff.

Most of the time you die as a Glad anyway is on shotgunning trash where 20+ mobs attack at once and overwhelm you.

That's now going to be happening a LOT more with the change. Sure, you can skip VC and invest heavily in suppression but then what's left? Same old Glad with worse damage?

I'm not sure I follow you OP.
Interestingly enough, my first rough draft for LL Lacerate Glad has 76/75 block under condition that he blocked attack recently. Not much of a nerf there, especially since he picked up some nice reductions along the way.
Mind, I don't think it's a bad change. The problem with the existing meta has been that it hides some of the more egregious content difficulty for non-meta builds.

So nerfing glad and other meta builds at this point is a good thing as it's going to expose how rippy the endgame has been for years.

A build that can essentially block everything on such binary terms is not really good for a game like this. It puts devs in a weird position where they have to balance a game that punishes this build at the expense of every other build. That gets us to where a 7k life chieftain can be two shot on a T10 map for standing still too long.

Yes, spell blocking is a lot worse now, but there are many sources of damage mitigation now. It is still imprecise, the POB is not 100% ready yet.

I could survive on a t17 triple beyond before, after patching I'll test it and give my verdict.
Glad got a small damage buff but the damage was shit on that char anyway. And a huge defensive nerf.

Overall net loss imo.

That ought to be a good read. I look forward to it!
This is first time that you might be on to something, i think it is time to dust off my duelist or scion. guard on left click is how most builds play, so it is pernament buff. I really like this "nerf" as many called it.

OP I like aoe and range on my skills, is there build that can get full use from these gladiator changes but not be annoying to use?

RF=maximum comfy
Cyclone=comfy
reave, last time i played it with claw was like 1/10 comfy and 7/10 powerful

this was my setup in no one knows which league

I think it was some very expensive conversion to elements thru watcher eye reave version with cold damage
I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty,
I feel pretty, and witty and gay,
And I pity Any girl who isn’t me today!

I ran a couple of my existing Gladiator builds through PoB and it's hilarious how nerfed they are.

Way less damage, less life, less life regen, less mana, less evasion, less armour and of course near zero spell block.

It's a much bigger nerf than 3.15, all dressed up in a shiny new Christmas tree with all the flashing lights.

Same with one of my Juggernaut builds, even though theoretically it wasn't changed at all. When you look at the detail, it takes at least the same number of points to get the same basic locations as before, and that's before masteries. For example, the one-hand/two-hand and armour wheels to the left of Juggernaut have an extra point to travel through and lose some of the "minor" stats that have been added to a mastery somewhere else.

I had the same thing happen—my DPS went to about 25% what it was before.

But other strange things are happening too, such as now having less life. And the lucky attack damage from the changed Violent Retaliation having no impact on the DPS calculation.

I'm thinking that even though PoB now has the tree, there must still be several things that aren't quite right, and that more accurate updates will be coming soon.

On the other hand, my resistances are now 79/84/79, thanks to the new maximum resistances wheel (and my use of Aegis Aurora), and I'm now innately immune to corrupting blood because of the mastery, and can remove the corrupted gem I had to use for that.

Also with the reworked Swagger and Brutal Blade, there is now a 45% chance to gain a frenzy charge on block, which is nice.
