You're right it's the 3.14 tree and given there were no significant changes to the tree between 3.14 and 3.15 they would be more or less the same. You know it's ok to say it lost half it's damage and spell block, but I fail to see the point in selling a narrative that it was massively buffed in 3.16.

His damage get totally gutted, and he lost the whole Spell Block Chance(which is huge and the best defense in the game with the Dodge), the guy is just selling false narratives.
He is using some insane gear, like the boots, that are pretty much impossible to get, and are using quite expensive stuffs.
Just the Amu, the cheapest one in STD is 40+exalted.

It would be good if you can make it to 1-2mln. on a let's say a normal(quite above the budget) gear.

He is trying to be interesting, but ain't working.

Gladiator without spell block is useless, period...

It was the only thing he have compare to the rest.

Now Ranger/Rider for example can have:
first - way better tree
second - insane amount of spell suppression for low passive points(straight up 40 and phasing from 1 Ascendancy lol)
third - insane amount of block chance
forth - very high amount of EVA, which always was better than the armor
fifth - way higher possibility for DMG
sixth - all 12 Ascendancy are insane

Gladiator - crap
first - crap
second - crap
third - garbage
forth - more crap
fifth - more garbage
sixth - All the Ascendancy now are crap, and there is zero synergy between them
seven - Champion is 100x time superior now
eight - Rider is better in every melee aspect now(which is an absolutely disgrace, a ranger character to be able to outdo melee orientated character in melee skills ...)
tenth - more of the same crap
eleventh - the moment i read the 3.16 patch notes i straight up deleted the game
