The truth of how to make currency, P2W or Not

I did a research with a lot of youtubers and I started with Zizaran "PoE University" Series, then I realize zizarans scrolling tabs then I said: "wooow nice collection of tabs dude" then, I searched for how to make currency with MbXtreme.

I dont think there is any doubt that PoE is a P2W game. If you don't buy tabs, at a certain point (probably mid maps or even earlier if you want to gear multiple characters) you hit a brick wall where your gameplay convenience either suffers dramatically (no unexperienced casual is going to juggle loot between dozens of mules), or you pay up. And I am not even going into the disadvantage of not having a public stash tab in a trade centric game like PoE.

Just to make it clear, I am not saying this is bad, the game needs to make money, if it was truly free then it would go bankrupt. However, it is also clearly P2W.

Trading isn't "winning". It's "cheating".

You're exaggerating.

Sure, say it's not totally free but you only need to spend $15-20 to get the essential tabs.

Way less than a box price game.

It's such a small pw2 cost but you just blanket it with "p2w" so it sounds bad.

P2W is reserved for actual game where it's ongoing, usually a steep cost that constantly puts you ahead.

So yeah have your little "P2W" label, yeah POE is p2w for a one-time $20 free.

If they just charged $20 or so to play POE and gave you the tabs would you say it's p2w then? Why not? Nothings changed except that way you couldn't even try it without buying.

So it's actually better than B2P, you get to try it and if you enjoy it pay a small fee.

Pay $15-20 or don't. You get so much for free, just look at the next patch but this threads still get made. Must be pathetic thinking such a small one-time cost is p2w.

I don't care. What I care is, they made game unplayable and unjoyable. That's way worse than 40 quad tabs.

I'd say $40-60 instead of $10-$15. You're off by about a factor of 4.

It still takes skill to consistently make good trades, prioritize the right content and leverage your income through trading. Stashtabs are a part of that, but if you are trading and you conceive yourself as poor, it is due to your inability to compete with the market on that level.

That being said, if this fact irks you so much, give SSF or private leagues a go. I have done so for the past 3 years and have been much happier for it. :)

Gotta agree, never had anywhere as much currency as i had after getting some premium tabs. QoL is billion times better because of map and currency tabs.

before getting them game was unplayabale because i could not keep maps on my endgame character.
I had mule accounts but poe is resource heavy, trading between multiple windows is slow, it made me crash a lot and it is not like another account can hold much more anyway+it has no premium tabs for direct sale, so you end up downloading some keygrabber that is supposed to make automatic shops n stuff in the forum section...
it is endless hole that gets you deeper and deeper to not have premium tabs.

at start of league quadtab is biggest deal for the chaos recipe, it gives you huge headstart over f2p players, so you can snipe all gg items in first 3 days of league. and from that point it is "rich does get richer" now you farm 10x quicker and can just throw items in to "b/o x tabs" and when too many ppl pm you, you ignore them and check the price

if you have 10chaos b/o tab and you get like 20pms in hour, there is good chance that is multiple ex item.

The time needed to reach where someone with tabs was week ago, is really crushing.

Real challenge for me would not be to play with no potions or alt+f4 macro, but to play with normie tabs. (which should be a thing for races and gauntlets tbh)
