D2R might bring new PoE players
I was thinking about it, new people will be playing D2R, and it can bring them here.
Not because D2R is bad, it is just because they might want MOAR and, at least for now, D2 maybe won't be enough. They will look at D3 and its systems won't fulfil them anymore, they will want something more, more depth, more complexity, more risky, some trade, etc. Some will look around and see similar games like GD, LE, Wolcen, etc. However, the online gaming will be more important than ever. Which will make them end up here... And they will like it in the beginning, soon they will be good and passionate about this game. Because of that passion, they will need to express their ideas and will start creating topics on the forum. By exposing themselves to others, their passion will become an obsession and maybe hate... But it is too late, another league is starting, they need to play, and then it is done, their souls belongs to PoE now... Last bumped on Sep 29, 2021, 4:58:08 PM

Ironically, d2r is way better in many things, than current poe version.
This is 2021 for you. Surprise! Last edited by DarkJen#6961 on Sep 23, 2021, 7:07:30 PM

Current POE is not better than D2R, why would anyone want to settle for a weaker game? Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.

PoE bad. Other games good. Beep boop.

I can see this happening. D2r is rekindling a love for arpgs in some pretty old dogs and at least a few have asked me how 'that arpg I supported and wouldn't shut up about' is going.
It is entirely possible that d2r either won't be enough or will be too faithful in its lack of innovation (both 100% by design and to be expected if not necessarily embraced), and drive some vets to check out the ARPG With The Lot. If so, and they find this supersized offering to their liking, hey, big win foe them. Instant gaming obsession for life. :) If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |

once the nostalgia wears off not many people will be left playing it. They also gutted the console version.

I started POE 2 months ago, & played Diablo 2 for middle school + high school (many years ago).
I did the nostalgia grind for WoW Classic, I don't believe playing two arpg's is worth my time, to nostalgia grind again. Ultimately ye D2 you only use afew skills at a time & the customization lacks. People play d2r for other reasons like the atmosphere. Tho that has a time limit. So yes, it will bring new players here. 20vs20 group pvp updates (for the main game, not royal). Siege vs siege maps. Randomized & shuffled passive trees. Bigger trees +30 point updates. Large towns hosting 100+ people; bard taverns. A field near town for guild events. Not hideouts like WoW-Garrisons. Outside like Ragnarok Online. People are already complaining about day 1 launch issues, rollbacks, character deletions, servers not working... not surprising for Blizzard, but then they're complaining about the clunkiness of the game, and begging Blizzard for 'modern' updates, forgetting Diablo 2 is an old game.
What competition does PoE have again? Nothing. Any advertising to the ARPG genre will bring more people here, one way or another. and the PoE's women don't look like men |

" Ironically D2R is having launch issues, much like PoE does. This is 2021 for you. Surprise! |
