Brittle shield, necro agies and unbound ailment

Reddit Post here claims this interaction works. If so it's an insanely powerful support gem to put in a secondary minion setup if you can guarantee they will be taunting and blocking.

Got that figured too - Hairy Bonecrusher

Great tanker
Use enduring cry for heal, taunt (distraction + 5% DMG taken) and 3 endurance charge 3*(15 all res, 15 phys reduction)
Max block
Paired with feeding frenzy

It should work rly good

Hairy Bonecrusher would make an excellent choice for non-Spectre builds. Taunt, however, provides a 10% less damage debuff to non-taunted enemies, not 5%. :D

While not nearly as tanky, Ruins Hellion will apply a 30% less damage taunt with a small 15% increased damage buff to allies. He's a much better alternative if you can keep him from dying.

30%less?
how..?
Taunt has 2 parts to it
- Enemy can only target the one who cast it
- Enemy does 10% less damage to everyone else
- Taunt has a 3s base duration

Hairy Bonecrusher taunts via Enduring Cry and Ruins Hellion via Rallying Cry. Both have an 8s CD (32.5% uptime). Ruins Hellion's taunt has the added effect that the less damage component is 30% instead of 10%.

With 3-4 spectres, you can get 100% uptime, if they are synced, which they probably wont be, but still...

He might be able to sustaine with Max block and 2% life on block from decay ward, up to 743 life on block from lvl 23 BO and vitality aura.
Ill probably have to link him to elemntal army to cap the resistances.

But for sure worth it, 30% less DMG, even with 50% uptime is HUGE

Rly wierd that no1 is using them tbh, they sound crazy

It is rounded to two decimal places. From what I could tell from screenshots, at least one decimal is also shown on the display for the magnitude of the ailment when you hover over the enemy.

What are the ailment thresholds formulas for Brittle, Scorch and Sap? How do I know the magnitude of the ailment applied?

  • Scorch is the same as shock and chill; the magnitude is given by the formula: 50 * (Damage / ailment threshold)^0.4
  • Brittle is the same as above, but the multiplier number at the start is 25 instead of 50. (Actually it's 2500, but that's because the stat Brittle inflicts stores 100 times the value applied, so that it can hold 2 decimal places - so internally Brittle's maximum magnitude is 1500, which causes +15% to crit chance against the enemy - for general purposes it's simpler to think of it as 25 and ignore the extra factor of 100).
  • Sap is the same but with 100 / 3.

Thanks again to DER_PSYCHOPATH for posting this in a different thread. Brittle on block will scale with every single point of increased increased effect of Cold/non-damaging ailments. I see no reason why a minion linked to L20 Unbound Ailments would not provide a 7.7% Brittle additional crit on block. That alone gives minions a 63.5% chance to crit with 2 power charges. While I don't have PoB open, that should be enough to make ICD provide ~36.5% more damage (Kingmaker only factored in). Any additional source of crit will only increase the value.

It's worth noting this shield cannot roll elemental damage modifiers. You can with the Sap shield, however which will cause the enemy to deal 9.24% less damage.

That's wierd..
on pob u can't set decimel in the brittle box
Not that weird. PoB is 3rd party software, and there are often inconsistencies for non-meta applications. I'd try seeing if you can code a mod directly onto a piece of gear "minions have 7.7% to critical strike chance", or if that doesn't work try directly on the piece of gear your minions are socketed in (make sure that piece is selected in skills) "socketed spells have 7.7% to critical strike chance".
