Is it a little bit of Drama or....
Eh. It's just drama. It shouldn't be too hard to adapt, and underperforming / destroyed builds will surely be buffed... eventually.
(Also, it's summer, and there's other ARPGs at the door people are looking forward to so naturally PoE is less exciting, new D3 season started at the same time, etc) Plus, they knew people weren't going to be happy. They did this knowing it might drop the numbers, but view it as a necessity for the long term health and thus prosperity of the game. So in all likelihood, they aren't worried, so I'm not. ------ That said, I've seen a lot of non-nerf, non-flask concerns now being raised, that people have been complaining about in the past, now get a lot of steam, riding the "whine wave". But, they're valid points. And no doubt, people who feel strongly about these not being addressed, are just gonna get increasingly frustrated with each league until they either leave or something is done about it. The biggest one, that I'm seeing repeated anyway, is the campaign. And it's something you can't get away from either. It's always a thorn in every player's side, and it's the first thing you face each league (or new character, period) Some points: 1) It's a "fun tax" to play maps 2) A tutorial, that cannot be skipped (funny, as it doesn't seem to teach you much about how to play the game and it's million mechanics if you ask me) 2) It takes up to a week to get through for players who don't play either very fast, much per session, or every day, or a combination (probably a lot longer for a new player then) 3) It's unrewarding. All the fun toys are locked away in maps, and getting to allocate +10 strength on level up isn't very exciting / something that makes you strive, like, that basic RPG short term goal of "just one more level" isn't there. 4) If you want to play a certain skill, you might not even get it until level 40ish (Golems for instance), or because you're playing "the wrong class", in Act 6. 5) Has to be run through... for each new character. Which is terrible for those who like making a lot of new characters to try things out with, and an awful pain if you made a build which it turns out, can't handle maps / cannot progress, and you need a re-do |

" Good points, if i could at least reroll without doing the ultra boring campaign for 10000000. time i'd have more fun even this league. I would make character for every new skill. I do not see how it is not enough to do it ONCE per LEAGUE. That would still mean people will have to do boring campaign 100times in lifetime of game. I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty,
I feel pretty, and witty and gay, And I pity Any girl who isn’t me today! | |
I feel like I'm the only one who quit, not because of nerfs or the league, but because I realize a few acts in that I have to spend hours upon hours grinding everything I already have in standard.

" Not even the slightest. There's no real competition, the whiners will either A. Get over it and take a break this league or B. Quit. Reddit has been a toxic nappy ever since harvest and this is the last tantrum when it can't get what it wants like it did with all other games and dev have a backbone to say "no". It's a shocked karen support group at this point. "Can you believe that they did that. O.M.G." No, the league was going to get bad numbers compared to the last couple league anyway because that's how the cycle is, even more so with USA getting to go out and people just. It's still in an updward trend and with next league going to be a banger. Plus Chris said that they know exactly what they need to do to get record numbers, so if they want that they just do that. It's just another metric that reddit is hanging on to while trying to cope with being told no. |

I guess the changes are great, which is why GGG is doing something I cannot remember them ever doing: working on "adjusting" (read: partially backpedaling on) many of their changes just 2 days into the league.
Read the announcements from earlier today, but for those of you who said "everything is fine", please swallow your words first, lest you wanna risk choking on them. As for the rest claiming this is just about people being unable to cope. Sure, you can cope with many things.. you can get used to hardship, suffering.. hell, some even like suffering and get off on it. That however does not change the fact, that the game objectively became less player friendly from 3.14 to 3.15. For many, this translates to it being less fun. If you look through the patch notes, there is no way to dispute that with all the quality of life changes undone to make the game harder. It is really irrational to blame people for being unwilling to cope with a situation where the game they are playing is made less enjoyable to play. Its not like this is a new game that you approach from scratch. For many, the experience is akin to losing a limb (ham-fisted analogy, but you get my point), being suddenly unable to walk. Sure, over time you can learn to do it, but it will never compare to what you had before. It would be totally different and like is for players just coming to the game, as for them, this is the norm... So while the systems might be fine for someone who is new to the game or is not that invested in it (casuals), for most enthusiasts, these changes are extremely painful and not all will be willing to make the transition. With all that said and done, I will be curious to what extent they will backpedal on the mana changes, as that is my primary issue personally and they said they are 'working on it'. |

I want to decide how and what I want to play. I want to have fun and not be circumcised. Why is it so difficult to understand?
That would be like saying to you eat your sandwich without mustard, it tastes much better. Would you go to Magnus Carlsen and tell him ey, watch out, the strategies you play are to OP and you have played them so many times play something different!? And yes i like mustard pretty much... " The thing is or better say was is that you couldve played the game the pace you want. Now we are ALL slow no matter what... Why does it affect you if someone is zooming? Last edited by elusive420#1362 on Jul 26, 2021, 4:05:30 AM

" No we are not really slow. People are still running through maps like no tomorrow so what are you even talking about?. They should do more radical changes if you ask me. |
