so GGG why exactly private indexers working much faster than poe search?

Bots would still be faster than humans even if the two indexers are the same, right?

This to a lesser degree have to do with bots but more with how the private indexers are a lot faster at showing freshly listed items for trade from the stash tab API than compared to the official trade website.

The best and cheapest items get snatched by bots either way.
internal item updates are sent to ggg's internal indexing database as well as to the api where private indexers get it with a delay.

difference is, ggg's internal indexing database is under a huge load cause people are running masses of requests per second on it.

so your data needs to be stored first before you can search for it (not sure how life search works).

private indexers have no need to store the data in a database if they offer no service to others,

they just evaluate the data for anything matching the search criteria to trigger their bots that send offers to players.

tl;dr: ggg has to store the data in a database which is under high load while private indexers don't need to do that.
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

Id argue to make the trade API closed so everyone have to use the official trade website and implement delay for users with lots of live search going on or bombarding the API with lots of calls.

Bots solved and private indexers solved.

That being said, making the delay greater should be important, the first I've heard of private indexers actually being faster since shortly after the official site was added and the delay added for the API in the first place.

If you have proof of which ones are working, I'd email GGG with proof and get a case open.

The proof is quite easily done.

List an valueable item with high demand underpriced below the the market value.
You could also do this with rarity gear.

Wait for the first whsiper and check poe.trade or the official website. Item wont be listed usually the private indexer bots have a delay of only a few seconds.

Its important to know that poe.trade does get the delayed API updates, you won't ever be the first to whisper someone if you use that system. I think after they got their site working and most people using, they should have purchased poe.trade domain and redirected, as poe.trade is more of a liability at this point then it is a resource for players.

It also important to know that many of the resources players use relies on the API for trends, poe.ninja for example doesn't need the latest information, it just needs information on a regular bases in order to plot trends. Then there is poe antiquary which is a good way to check what items values go to at certain points in the league.

Granted, the meta will determine that moreso then just past activity, its still a useful resource.

Nah it's not. It's on the whitelist.

i use the api with an self made jnode app from 6/7 leagues

and trust me, before Ritual was very easy snipe items, but if you tried to sell, for example, Dense Fossils you were studded with hundreds of messages .... now with few dozen

from ritual they have changed something, its difficult to explain well what happens but they have implemented a sort of queue of all the ppls that search with live search / api for a certain item, and based on the number of ppl they apply a certain delay to some ppl or even exclude ppl from displaying them on live search(api and website)

this is applied to both live search and api

this, however, only led to a multiplication of the number of bots because obviously increasing the number of bots increas even the chances of being among the first in the queue

and trust me, the delay between api and live search it's negligible, but unlike you, bots can make an instant whisper as soon as the item is put up for sale because they don't have to copy the whisper and paste in the poe chat manually

It still gets a delay, whitelisted or not.

You can test this yourself, multiple times if you like.

List something absurd for a price no one will message you for, refresh every 3-5 min, watch it show up on pathofexile.com/trade and then watch it show up one poe.trade up to 30 min later.

Then also remove it from your tab, watch it disappear from pathofexile.com/trade instantly and watch it take forever to disappear from poe.trade.

You see this shit all the time with people that relist stuff after getting spammed if you have ever setup a live search on the official site.

A while back (after that post), the trade system was getting hammered and they further limited API in order to ensure the official site functions correctly.

personally, when i find a price changer, i hound them for up to an hour after they change it while using the original price. list it for a price, sell it for that price is what i think. loss or not, it's a damn game.

all sale items should also be removed at every league start. that will also fix price changers on top of making the trade site WAY faster
poe is going down fast. Diablo 4 and Baldur's Gate 3 have no performance issues. play them instead
