Well numbers are official my elemental builds survived with lile 40-50% less dps.

The one melee pure phys build i had HO boy is it dunked in the trashcan. The dps still should be good for Maven and on that level but its not worth the investment anymore.

Spells or bust this league I checked a pob from a friend who is masochist and plays pure phys slams. With additionally Seismic Cry gone he lost 80% dps
Yeah the next gauntlet race meta will be very interesting. My guess spells/rlemental damage will take over meta in all modes now.

all in all crit builds got axed with half or more damage gone considering crit, flasks, gems, tree, mana...

And all that would be ok and understandable IF they buffed defenses significantly. Now it will just be very very frustrating.

I was planning on an instruments inquisitor this league, as a fan of battlemages I kinda have to try something they added to the game especially for that, sooner or later. Anyway, made a rough draft with blazing salvo and molten strike a few days ago and, after checking the new numbers and tweaking some supports, it seems that the salvo lost around 25% dps and it's maybe 15% for molten strike, defenses are more or less where they were. That's a good chunk missing, but not really the end of the world.

But, as I said, that was a rough draft that wasn't really layering too many things. Those that do would lose a lot more, I imagine, but those also have more power in reserve to take the hit.

this weapon was not enough to make it good. people made 'successful' molten strike builds.. with jugg accuracy stacking and ~1mir in gear (10+ BONKERS abyss accuracy jewels) simply brutalizing all scaling

i know youll do it anyway. but beware of numbers - they are very misleading, divide damage from balls in half. it is very unreliable since 'rework'

I sucks but for a first time in ages playing standard seems like a good idea, at least to test how much currency some builds would require to work properly.

Then again, if gearing out a build would require trading my legacy junk not sure If there even is a point to try and do it in a league format.

Yeah, I know it sucks, but salvo will outdamage it anyway so it should be fine as long as it can do enough damage to kill trash and keep the leech going until fanaticism charges up. I'll probably keep tectonic on the side if it's unbearably bad, can't gain charges more than once per second anyway.

So... what's the verdict? I have seen some very good cyclone versions, but... with shockwave.


I'm not someone very experienced, but I have the impression that pure physical + impaling exaggeratedly nerfed.

My gear (harvest full min-max) with some attack skill + impale could do t19 with a relatively good timing with a Paradoxica.

Now, even with an extreme high level Foil and several legacy items, the t17 looks like hell, I can barely complete an Alva.

I don't know, but I think the impale nerf was too high.

Just did my third deathless Simulacrum yesterday. Went smooth as hell. Still using a Strike skill. Melee isn't dead. Still not "META", but far from dead. Some ascendancy classes are more dead than others, though - and they need to do something about that. And buffing some very old, forgotten, underpowered and underplayed skills is a must the next two leagues.

Haven't played impale after the nerfs, but I may agree here. But for years, pure physical wasn't even a thing - and far from viable. For a couple of years now, it has been THE best option for most melee builds. It DID need a little nerf, but they may have overdone it slightly.

Need to test to be sure. Ideas for a test build (except Cyclone?)
