[STATISTICS] Look at how badly Ultimatum has been received...

Im curious to see the steep falloff in player numbers in the coming weeks once they broad masses lvl their chars to maps and discover there is lack of endgame.

Oneshotting t16 map bosses cannot be the answer.

If it takes people more weeks to reach endgame, they're not gonna be 1shotting bosses anytime soon. Between the Harvest, beastcrafting, and fracturing nerfs, buying the gear necessary to achieve that has been moved to being exclusively for the wealthy elite who are already at endgame within the first couple days of league launch.

If anything, people will quit upon realizing that GGG has greatly widened the gap between the rich and the poor this league. It'll be the rich who can 1shot the bosses, and they're far fewer than the rest who have to deal with spending 10+ minutes fighting a boss that can 1shot them at any given moment.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

I would say comparing the first week just shows the marketing success (or lack of).

Comparing week 3,4 and 5 shows for the actual substance of the patch.
We will have to wait and see.
i for one see this entire league set up to appeal to the streamers alone. given the huge head start they got at league start so they can set the economy more the way GGG wants it. things are over priced on purpose so the average players have no chance of actually reaching full endgame content.

GGG has zero community interaction unless you do something like ask someone if they are daft. while daft only means they are silly or foolish. but it seems that is a breach of the code of conduct. or to post patch news and game changes. but we are only being told what is happening as 99% of all feedback just falls on deaf ears.

they fix the music for sirus as it was a priority over the broken trade system which has been needing to be fixed for a long time.

none of this matters as people just keep dumping money into a company that does not care about them.
poe is going down fast. Diablo 4 and Baldur's Gate 3 have no performance issues. play them instead
Think fractured maps will come back?
Path of Exile players are so attached to retention, while it says so little. I mean, there are people playing the league because they enjoy the game, not because they enjoy the league. Also there are many other things that contribute to lower or higher retention. I couldn't play in Delve league for example, because I had some family issues that had to be taken care of, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the little amount of time I played. There could be a civil war in the city with the most % of PoE players in the world during the best league ever and there would be less retention. What we care about is retention + feedback.
and to get the bigger picture of it all, not everyone who plays PoE plays through Steam. There are shit tons of players playing through the Standalone-client also.

This is actually true, I myself switched to standalone client after this league started just because the steam client kept crashing constantly.

However, looking at my friend list in general there does seem to be less people playing than usual. But that could be due to a lot of different reasons. Last league came along with echoes of atlas expansion and all the new maven-related content so that kept people engaged.
My guess in this thread was 80k players at the 3 weeks mark.

At the current rate it should match. Maybe slightly below/above.

But that is still good enough considering this league was not an expansion and had major fuck ups at the launch day.
Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks
The reason could be performance issue too. GGG made trial easier but i can say that this league i will quit because of catastrophic FPS issues with middle class PC.

I hope they are properly checking WHY people are quitting: trial difficulty or lags may not be the only reason.

Covid is also ending in many countries, sun is back here, maybe peopla want something more casual: heard about this streamer who stopped POE because it was too much time consuming ?

It's coming.
stupid stats. How do you even know what league they are in? It's quite possible to hate this league and now break in std...online players tells you nothing really and you guys are guessing. Guess what I'm doing after playing all three months of Ritual...

stats say i like ultimatum which is quite the opposite. Worst league other than nets league.
