How are people making money? Everything is so expensive on trade. Help?

For a second I thought you were right, then I looked up what the Achievements are. Looks like they hand them out like candy. You get one achievement for each Act boss you defeat, as well as for each difficulty of the Labyrinth you finish, as well as a bunch of other trivial stuff. So you would likely have 15 - 20 achievements by the time you start mapping on your very first character.

I just took a closer look at some of the challenges and it's similar there. You should have at least four challenges by the time you finish Kitiva in Act10.

I could believe reaching 100 exalts with 4 challenges/achievements if someone was just flipping trades, but he said that he doesn't care about currency and just plays. Well, again, I hit 20 challenges this league by "just playing".

Anyways, it doesn't really matter. To each his own.

In regards to the actual topic here, I managed to find a better build which helped immensely. I'm sitting on around 40 exalts and 1000 chaos now, which is my best league so far.

All I can say is, don't trust Big Ducks build guides lol.

Nowadays it's easy to make money in POE but if what you mean is those big money with minimal effort then the best investment is knowledge. As you bank knowledge you'll be able to craft a go to item every league that nets you easy income to invest in maxing out of your character, or your additional character or even a meme character.
