I completely agree. The new targeting seems so counterintuitive. Im guessing most players dont care because they are just using smoke mine. For anyone trying to use a mine as their main attack skill (probably the most fun I had playing PoE) it is incredibly frustrating when you stutter-step while dropping a mine because your cursor was slightly off from the center of your character. This can get your character killed when you were counting on that mine to freeze enemies around you.

This targeting change is major anti-fun for me and I see no upside to it. Although in general the support seemed fairly buggy with certain actives and maybe its just in development hell and they cant figure out how to make it work properly. Likely not worth their time/money to revert it or get it working as it only effects the .0001% of players trying to kill things with remote mines.

This. Unplayable as it is now.
Yeah this new mine is totaly worthless. It makes running around evading stuff+placing mines ALOT harder.

No other skill runs to your cursor and then attacks. Imagine all the other skills having this effect.

Please undo this change and bring back the old mine at feet placement.

And to the guy who complained about DD+Remote mine, yeah i also have the same build and noticed the targeting is shitty. The range is like 2 meters from the actual mine.

And please dont tell me to hold shift if i want to place it at my feet. Using remote mine as a primary skill im sure you can imagine how tideous it is to having hold shift for the whole period of time you are playing.

Problems:

- New path finding system for mine placement: seriously, i told you when you added this it was bad, your mouse can be anywhere on the screen when you try to put a mine down, others agree with me based on other posts here, get rid of it already.

- Lack of benefit: at present, it only provides a 15% avg more modifier than traps, but 15% avg less than concentrated effect? that makes no sense considering the extra effort of placing and firing manually on top of time for the mine to actually "set" itself. Laying mines should have additional benefits, damage, size something worthwhile.

The current argument is, the modifier is larger therefor it deals more damage than other focus types. Invalid. Most clears are based on immense damage or insane speeds, often a mix between. The time it takes for a mine to be placed, set itself, and then activate is time when the player can either be hit, or allies to clear nearby enemies before you even get a chance to activate.

You've shown the love to trappers, totems, summoners, and all the other types pretty much. Now its time for remote mine. That includes uniques, whether its they detonate when an enemy walks over them, or it replaces the single mine with a few miniatures around the same location, the time is now! SEIZE THE DAY! FOR THE MOTHERLAAAAAND!

i was planning to use burning discharge on remote mine, but... it seems it doesnt work with discharge? really thought itll be fun to end cry the place mine & detonate, spent all my currency to make one, well but its too late, wtf

Traps, Mines and Totems are entirely separate entities. They use your stats, but they do not have your Charges; they only gain the benefit of Frenzy/Power because you benefit.
(Discharge + Trap would be so stupid)
does anybody know what is the base duration of laying a mine?
