That character is out of your league (and you know it).
" This seems like a problem of your own creation, though. Why would you EVER leave a map until AFTER the person has accepted your party invitation? Even people messaging you in-league can change their minds or have to handle a different trade or whatever. I don't leave maps until the person buying from me is standing in my hideout, for this exact reason. |

What I see here:
OP had to get his anger out (from what a BIG, BIG problem there was (this is irony in case you didn't get it ;) ), write a forum post, get told it's just a joke, get even more annoyed, because his lack of humor + lack of willingness to see it how it is is just insane. Dude, getting upset is okay, you didn't get it and felt offended, but how are you so blind and unwilling to learn that you just interpreted it incorrectly? Is the world really coming to a point where you have to lay out everything to the extend of no way to misunderstand things? That doesn't even work properly in the judical system, so why keep being upset about a JOKE in a GAME? |

I am not annoyed at all, it is interesting to see such a divided opinions.
The message does not contain the information that the messenger is in another league. That information is important, and should be there. And I think that made me angry, the developer has time to make a joke and no time to display such an important information. Last edited by jhnsmth#0260 on Mar 24, 2021, 12:26:24 PM

" I don't see why it can't be seen as both a joke and important information. It's telling you accurately that you're not in the same league as the other person, and at the same time, making a joke via word play. Unless you're suggesting the message tells you what league they're in as well. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds. Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! I was referring the message from another person not GGG's message.
I mean the original message with the trade offer should contain the information that the person is in another league. The developer chose to make a joke but he/she could chose to display the information that the trade message is from a player who is in another league. That could help us a lot. |

" I guess that's what he is saying, he wants GGG to tell you before you even invite the player that the message came from a character of a different league. Well if I'm in the middle of a hassle in a map, I just wait for either a calm moment where I have enough time to invite the player, or if I do Sirus for example, I finish the fight and ask if the person still wants to do that trade. I get it, you feel like you have to instantly go to your h/o and invite the player, otherwise you "lose out". But I learned that most times, people are still interested in the trade if it was a distinct item, and if it wasn't, you will get another offer soon enough. I don't think there is anything done wrong here by the devs. Could they implement some indication of the League the character is from who whispered the message? Sure, but I don't feel like that's necessary at all. |

You know this joke is similar to that situation when somebody forget to tell you
to wear a costume when you invited to a party, then laugh on you when you arrive not wearing a costume. In my example I did not make any mistakes. I just have not been informed about the fact that the buyer is in another league. Then they (GGG) joking on me not knowing that fact. This is not fair. That made me angry. |

I still don't understand how you can get so offended by a simple pun line put in by the devs. Your comparison to real-life socially inappropriate behaviour is just so far fetched.
I don't care if you get easily offended or not, but how do you still not see that there is no ill intent? I rather have a funny message in a game (even if some people won't get it) than everything being straight dry and boring like other business-like companies. |

" There, fixed it for you. Why so stubborn? Not everyone shares your sense of humor. Just accept it. |

I really do not know why so hard to understand my point.
The developers were lazy so they choose this lame joking. They could be thoughtful and understand the issue fully but they chose not to. |
