The fresh coat of paint is literally remodeled EVERY ASSET in the original again. If it's just up-res, & higher res texture, maybe you have a point.

Whether the MTX is optional is IRRELEVANT in your argument, because you clearly have no issue paying for the overprice MTX which means you think they are worth it. But 40€ for a game that recreates near 100% of assets is too much....

Convenience me you do not have double standards.

It's perfectly fine to say you don't want to buy the game as there aren't many new things added.

It's another to attack the game for charging too much for "just a fresh coat of paint" when you are paying MORE for stuff that is vastly less effort.

i doubt heavily that activison put much effort in the game.
As i said, its a cashgrab for a game that will keep you occupied till D4 comes out. Even if its a terrible game people will leave D2 to D4, because its "new and exiting"
They resell the most beloved stuff because of greed. They don't need the money, but they want it.

I would say GGG needs the money, since their game is basically F2P. The prices may be a little over the top in some areas, but it's still up to you to buy them.

If they left D2 just as "remastered" and add nothing new to it, it will not live long. Just remember WC III reforged. That game is basically dead on arvial after the shitstorm they recived, but they sold enough copies to make the money back.
This behavior is nothing new, just look at hollywood. Terrible reworks of movies. People still go to the cinema to see them, making back the money.

Considering the massive ammount of bugs/lag/dc/crashes/screens and many more that POE has., its mtx arent worth anything in my eye.

Simple math.

0x0= 0.

Period.

So in the end the price of d2 remastered is so far much more justified than Poe.

I don't trust Blizzard since The D3 Blizzcon fiasco. Didn't give a single penny for them in years.

I'm looking into this D2 remake with 27 steps back. Looks like a cash grab for nostalgic fans, myself included. But it will not change a thing in PoE.

I'll look how it goes. If after some time it's stable, no crashes, fun PvP and all else I had 20 years ago I might consider.

But so far I don't think it's D2 remake that will topple PoE. It's more likely GGGCent ruin their own game than any other good ARPG arrive in the market.

So far GGGCent is doing a great job to ruin its game. Texture streaming and the shit the game is now with crashes and lags are a huge step forward.

I am not sure why people are so excited about the d2 remaster.

1 This is blizzard .. the people whole fucked up Warcraft 3 ... the last game in the series that gave them their definitive cash cow in WoW

2 according to what i have seen this remaster is going to be faithful to the origional..

People seem to forget that the original is 20+ years old and has 20+ years of innovation in the genre not present. How about them tiny ass stashes? how about the limited content that will see you endlessly running baal with a bot carry? Mmmmm yes I can totally see this content killing off poe permanently ....

yeah no you will play the d2 remaster for like a few months .. probably enjoy it assuming they dont fuck it up and then you will be right back here.

3. This is also activision there is no guarantee that they wont start injecting bs predatory mtx into their game 6 months down the line with all the reviews are out. this is saddly a more and more common practice.

4 don't forget the updated eula activision shit on wc3 which basically killed all incentive to make mods on that game. So if you were hoping for them juicy mods that makes the current d2 special in 2021 .. good luck with that.

So I will view this news as the curiosity it is.. and nothing more.
