I am in your same boat...
" This is actually a golden rule. " Nope, you can create a new Guild, but it will have 0 Guild Stash Tabs (unless something changed during these years). Every account has a little "free points" that can only be spent by Guild Donations, which is a Guild's common bank that the Guild owner can use in order to buy Guild Stash Tabs. I don't know how many accounts are needed in order to get 1 "free" Guild Stash like that. (Yes, you can keep creating alt-account to meet the quota. Yes, expect GGG to be upset about it.) " When GGG released hideouts that can be achieved by farming a certain map, I saw it as a first step towards rewarding players for just playing the game, not just as a League Betatester. Perhaps, one day, GGG will be wealthy enough to even release those kind of things. That would be so awesome...
long list of suggestions for OP, redacted for brevity
If you come here from an ordinary RPG game like Titan Quest, Grim Dawn, Sacred, Torchlight and what have you, you might have developed, without you noticing, a pack-rat/hoarder compulsion. Path of Exile will cure that for you, making you willing to leave uncommon, even rare drops on the ground. And, of course, since you don't have a Premium stash, you will either have to rely on a 3rd party tool (legal ones) like Procurement/Acquisition, or just limit yourself to sell divCards, Fossils, Currency and whatever you can freely search in the Bulk Exchange section of the official Trade in this place. The more you will play, the more content will be added. And the less space you will have to hoard your items and even your currencies. It's a war you cannot win. Apart from using as many lv2 mules at each and every league (I usually make 2 of them last since some years, but I fear Ritual will make me go for 3), and using the "confort" of having an Alt-Account for 4 extra stash and 22 more characters, there are some little tips and tricks for saving space: > If you don't go SSF (and you don't want to go SSF with a free account unless you have some very, very clear ideas on what you want to do at every league), feed the market as much as you can. Sell your fusings for Chaos, sell your chaos for Exalted (think of exalted as Grim Dawn's "iron bar". Yeah, Iron Bars had their own fixed value and they don't need you to go Wall Street all over them, but this is all we got, alas). If your build can live with 5L, just use a 5L harvest (had one in average on a weekly base) or get yourself a Jeweller's Touch prophecy (via The Jeweller's Boon Divinatin Card is cheaper). If you want to manually link, either save 150 fusing and delve a bit, or do it with a 6S socket - you will have twice the chance for a 5L and maybe even a chance of a 6L if you are damn lucky. If you need a 6L, well... the game nowadays allows you to get a 6L easier since Bestiary, so you may also go for it as long you are not looking for a Unique 6L. If you actually need a Unique 6L, 1500 Fusings is half a stash's space - something you will probably not have. Either pray Kuduku, or consider the idea of buying it or a Fated Connection prophecy. > Put as much holes you can in those items you just leave around! Gems can still be hoarded for precious gemcutter prisms, either via quality or via Harvestcraft (corrupted for % of quality as GCP). Just use your items' socket to save you some space (if any, TP, socket out that gem and return to the Grove to get your GCPs). Same goes for those Abyss Jewls - keep your Stygian Vise and any other thing with black holes filled if you need some space > Weed out those maps! Your character will get good in time - all of those white and yellow will eventually yield too little experience to even be useful, and will be just there wasting space. Sell them for chisels, or vendor them right away. Since Metamorph, you can actually force your maps eventually to drop at minimum T14 - a map sustaining heaven. Just remember to keep some yellow unid White Maps (normal Atziri always yield one at each run) in case you... > ... want to keep those Scarabs with you. Unfortunately, as with all Map Fragments who still do not stack (yet), they quickly fill space. Yet, even a rusty Legion scarab can become extremely useful now with the Atlas Tree. Use those maps to weed out those scarabs, and get good yields in the (relatively) safe environment of a white map. Remember: there is a time when you need to work hard, and one when you need to work smart. > Refine your Oils, and Refine your Sextants. Keep selling your sextants until you only have Awakened ones (which you may want to sell if you are not really into them), and - well, you don't really need those 100 Clear Oils, now, do you? Just keep making the oil rise up toward the Golden - make sure to just keep 1 for each color in case you need to respec your Anoints. > Refine those essences, or just don't pick them up if you don't want to sell/use them in the end! If you don't plan to heavily use Essences or sell them, limit yourself to pick up only from Screaming tier and above - you will end up with a bit less space wasted for low-tier essences, and the one you have filled will have decent-tier ones for your needs. Be wary - even like that you may end up using one single character's worth of inventory. |

Out of interest - it isn't possible to gift MTX to other people, because of the risk of it leading to RMT-like behavior, am I right?

" That would be nixed as a likely vector for RMT. I've suggested they make a donation pool we could contribute to and have it be administered by GGG to help out people who "deserve it". It would be up to them to determine the criteria that would be. I'd chip in. Lots of people would. It would be a way for GGG to "sell" stuff to people who have zero probability of buying it themselves. I'd have probably chipped in more than I've spent on myself, which is about $300-$400. Quite a bit over the years. I'd toss them $100 right now if they started this. GGG gets the money, players like this get their stash tabs. Only downside is that there's work for someone who probably already has stuff to do. Last edited by Shagsbeard#3964 on Jan 28, 2021, 4:58:48 PM

I often wonder how people who can afford a computer that can run PoE can't afford $40 to buy tabs. But I'm sure there are people who wont buy stuff on principle, or who simply can't buy stuff due to a court order or something. Some people might simply take it as an added challenge.
But seriously... if you can't afford $40 for this game, you really should look at why you're spending your time playing it. |

Personally I feel like POE has gotten to a point where 4 tabs is not enough to REALLY consider this game F2P...its free to try and if ya like it buy a few tabs and support the game if not no loss other than time.
I know OP said dont tell me to buy tabs but dude seriously an SSD is basically required AND Internet is required so...honestly dont know how you play long term with only 4 tabs...might be a good YT for a streamer to make I've lost control of the controls...
