Had to Cancel My Diablo 3 Pre-Order
I finally managed to get some time with Path of the Exile and after one night of playing my Diablo 3 pre-order is no more.
I haven't been keeping up with the forums here or over at camp Blizzard but I just have to say that to me this is the real Diablo 3. Very easy to see what the goal was when developing PoTE and where the inspiration comes from. As a Diablo 1 and 2 fan I just have to say thank you. As a customer I just want to say please do not make this game pay to win. I know this game is releasing under f2p and that is fine but I would really like to keep this game on a level playing field. As for real money auction halls and all that garbage well, let Blizzard have there million farmers logged in and botting all night. We'll stay over here and play games for fun like they were meant to be played and developed. Again thank you for this game. I really do apreciate how much time and effort has gone into this to make it what the players have been asking for since D2. |

Welcome! You basically went through the same thing as I did, it's sad but it's also a relief to realise before it was too late!
If GGG chickens made an action RPG, what would it be called? Path of Eggxile, a Peck 'n' Slash RPG.
Why was the helmet spluttering? It was a coif. |

So much false sense of entitlement and 'knowing it better'.
I wish for once people could just come to this game without hating on Diablo 3. ''Stand amongst the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters.
The silence is your answer.'' IGN: Vaeralyse |

" Well here I am :) I do not hate D3 or PoE. This makes sense since I have played neither, which makes it hard to form an informed opinion. So what does someone like me have to go on? Well, not much, if I discount forum posts which may or may not be of value. Some screenshots, perhaps a few inferences about the devs. I think I'll just play both and decide for myself what I like. Well, D3 is pricier, perhaps I will consult a few trusted friends to render an opinion (on the full game, mind you) before I plunk down $60. Oh and on topic ... personally I don't understand preordering. Why pay in advance to not have a game? I just wait until release, then pay, and have the game same as everyone else. I suppose a devoted gamer might preorder to support the dev team, but this only makes sense for a small studio, not a cash cow like Blizzard. Maybe it's just me. not enough time for gaming!

I preorder when I intend to get a game, and they offer some perk such as early access or a cosmetic item (vanity pet or whatever.).
When they don't, I don't. Why restrict myself if funds are tight, or THIS store is more convienent than THAT store when the day comes, or whatever. |
