"Only the wealthiest of players........."

If there's one sentence that sums up my experiences and feelings toward this game when I quit several years ago and feel now after returning for Heist...Chris Wilson said with stunning indifference (no flinching either, I re-winded and checked) during yesterdays launch video.
First, let me say this will go down as one of the best games ever made, maybe the best. The dev team has largely displayed incredible depth and creativity in making changes and updates to the games evolution. But as time wore on I got sooo sick of re-leveling masters, trying to acquire decent gear, and hitting the inevitable map wall as I'm required to do the maths and play some bizarre cat and mouse game with myself over my own map 'pool' . So i quit.

Only to return, to find out:
Maps need some sort of juice boxes now to be worth
There's a scuba diver in my maps that wants to talk to me
there's a smart a** hunter and for some reason I'm building a zoo
I need to go cave spelunking
the screen goes grey and i get a pathetic couple pieces of silver rice at the end
And I need to play a bizarre jail house game of monopoly

and still I play. I tell myself I can do it for the few hours each day after work that I get, stick with it. But then I hear: "only the wealthiest of players...."
he said that More than once too. Matter of fact. Watevs. Go ahead and feel free to suck it, the vast majority of you pleb players. Oh but by the way, check out our new supporter packs....

this game...like WOW when i quit that...is clearly developed and updated for the top of the top tier players. changes are made to accommodate the best of skill sets and i literally never get an opportunity to try out some of the coolest parts of the game.

Sigh.....I don't know what the solve is but honestly....I may as well go back and cap valor in WOW...at least with the right amount of time investment I'll eventually get the best gear and deepest content...or at least most of it.
Not bitchin....just how that video made me feel

P.s. While he seems to me like a very nice guy and does a great job streaming and contributes positively to the POE community....even as the casual player I am, I recognize that our little Q & A Australian friend, has never, literally never ever, not once, like ever, driven or influenced the meta.
Ever.
Seriously.
Like ever.

Thank you and g'-day (ok so I'll prolly buy another support pack and play the new release but still.....)

There has always been the 1% in this game. The Ultra wealthy, exalt-burning gang.
Nothing new here.

And, really, what does ZiggyD have to do with your post?
~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.
That would be me : == ]

You also don't have a chance for the best gear if you don't nolife and join the Mythic Raiding guilds or have top 1% arena rating or be in twenties in M+ dungeons - all need greater tempo and investment than PoE.

There is no philosophy of negation applied by the "wealthies" but there is plenty in your context by the "scrubs".
I feel like these threads are just display of narcissism as you're stripping other players of their opportunity of challenge only because you think you're more important than them.

I love a challenge. Just not tedium.

Not sure what the more important thing means? I left quietly many years ago sooooooo.....ya. try again maybe?

I play 2 weeks per league and lift heavy every single day + have a life and still make 2 - 4 mirrors within that time period.

Who cares if you left? Completely irrelevant as you're presenting your wishes about the future right now.

I don't get what you find wrong with that.

The game is designed that people who no-life it can still enjoy it past the second day.

This means having some stuff to do for the 1 thousandth or whatever percentage you want to have, so that they don't get bored. Yes, many times it's a deliberate, artificial rubbering of the content to stretch it out and make it grindy. That's how grinding games work.

It's pretty simple - if you enjoy what you're doing in the game, or you enjoy the carrot on the stick, keep doing it. If not, well, if you cant find anything worthwhile to do, then why do it.

Chris said that he doesnt see ARPGs limited to necessarily slaying mobs all the time too. He said trading is a legit way to play PoE, or doing heists, or running lab, and so forth. So he sees PoE as a game where people enjoy doing things they might like.

Ive been criticizing GGG and direction the game went for years, yet still I find something interesting in PoE nearly every league. I havent killed uber elder in ages, havent killed uber atziri in a while, and I never even bothered to kill A8 sirus. I still find something fun in this game to do. mostly builds and theorycrafting, but endless delve was amazing too.
