Why do Rangers get to have quivers?

Base white weapons:

2H axe top dps 125.9 (Vaal)
2H mace top dps 109.0 (Terror Maul)
2H sword top dps 104.0 (Ezoymte)
2H staff top dps 104.0 (Ezoymte)

2H bow top dps 64.8 (harbinger)

yeah a quiver is way better than double base damage

Dear sir, I believe you completely ignored my post deconstructing your argument.

Also, 64.8 x2 = 129.6, which would be higher than all four of those that were listed, which means it would be less than double base damage.

Please stop using exageration to defend your argument and instead base yours in fact (and not real life logic, because remember, each time you drag real world physics into a fantasy argument, god kills a cat girl)
And if you close your eyes, does it feel like your exalt almost hit this time~

name a game you have played where a bow user did not have access to a quiver

name a game you have played where a 2H user has had access to an offhand

Diablo 2 could dual wield 2h weapons, D&D (the pnp game) you can dual wield all sorts of things. Likewise, in D&D, you can use a buckler and a 2h weapon at the same time, as one is just on your wrist.

Dungeon Siege 2 had no quivers.

Many games in general have endless ammo (like 1000000 jrpgs)

Now then

I can base my other side of the argument on:
Fine, it wont be in my hand, just upon my back (ala a back scabbard)
After all, if we are soaking this in real world logic, I would get tired holding the weapon all day, and thus need some way to carry it such as the scabbard upon my back (considering its too big for a belt)

Likewise, part of your argument is that "you only need two hands for the bow when you are using it" so why do you get the benefit of your quiver when you are firing your bow?

and i'm sure in those games u lost dps in order to do so?

i know for a fact in d2 u lost dps if u equipped a 2h with a shield

never heard of dungeon siege but I will take your word for it

every game I've ever played that had bows had quivers and I have never played a game where 2H can use OH and maintain full dps

@EnlightenD
So you have never played FFT, or a JRPG?
Or a good number of ARPGs like Torchlight

Even some MMOs dont have quivers
Hell, even some MMOs have additions for the 2h weapon, such as FFXI with its weapon grips.

And you are basing this trade off on damage vs survivabilty, which I am fine with.
Except you ALSO get range. You ALSO get 6 link.

Pick one to give up, since we all get two.
1h+1h gets attack speed and bonus stats.
1h + shield gets tanky and bonus stats
2h gets high damage and 6l
Bow gets bonus stats, range, and 6l.

Pick which you dont want.

Technically, a bow is a finger weapon.
So why can't we use 10 bows?

and the pointless arguments rage on.
