What do you think about the new core packages?

...it's amazing I ever lost so much sense of basic good taste as to spend that much money on visually offensive armour skins that are simultaneously so overdone and yet rarely noticeable in the heat of the action anyway. They're like a poor man's idea of rich -- more is better, brighter is better, flashier is better. Gross. And at such a premium price tag, you really have to want to support this game because there's no way in hell skins that abhorrent would sell for a tenth of their price in any other game. I'm sure the people who made them worked really hard, but they're being paid for it and I imagine there are a lot of talented unemployed artists who'd see these ridiculous skins and wonder why they even bother.

As far as top-tier priced armours go, GGG have yet to top the clean style of Crucible, and if we're talking pure good armour design regardless of price, mid-range sets such as the gryffon and vanguard both have that rarest of qualities in PoE armour mtxes: they wouldn't be immediately ludicrous if seen on an actual battlefield.

Skinning in PoE is like choosing wine: go too cheap and you're a pitiable hobo; go too expensive and you're an insufferable snob people can't bear to even look at. Middle of the range is usually practical and satisfying.

I was fairly sure GGG were trolling when they released literal clown suits and people still bought them, but eh, maybe it's always been a bit of a circus and I was too busy tending to the poor animals to notice.

...I'm only saying all this because I know it won't affect support pack sales in the slightest. Exiles are the gaming equivalent of the stereotypical magpie, collecting all the shiny things, and they're fiercely loyal to GGG.

Still, you asked. I think they're the antithesis to the concept of 'aesthetically pleasing'. You have to work very hard to make something as impressively ugly as a top-tier supporter armour pack in PoE.
