THANK GOD they delayed next league for cyberpunk release

@Liquid_stone

GGG may have lost some money but nowhere near as much as they would have if they did release when they initially planned.

The league at the time was getting old, it wasn't well received a lot of "paying" supporters had quit already, those that were still spending money were in the minority.

What you fail to understand that GGG's revenue and advertising/hype focus revolves around the leagues.
If they spend a shit ton and press, get people hyped, add server capacity etc, it's all centred around the launch weeks of the new league.
If no one is there to play the new league or buy the new supporters packs/mtx then they are loosing far more money than they would by delaying a month.

I avoided preordering CP and waited for reviews. Turns out it's the greatest failure of modern times....Metacritic 3/10

Actually I'm enjoying this time off in standard. Great opportunity to use all em juicy lewtz.

Actually CP one of the greatest games ever. Play it maybe you'll see. Don't let other people shape your opinions for you. However don't try and play it on a potato.

Im wondering how many games you actually played if you call this... thing "best gane ever". Was CP77 and PoE only games you ever played or what?
"best ever" is purely subjective. Arguing about it is really pointless. Maybe this guy was just waiting for a game that would allow him to select from different models for his penis, and he finally got one. Best ever. Not my criteria, but to each their own.
Im pretty sure there are games which have more variety even for such things.

So apparently even after all the refunds, the game has still sold over 13 million copies in just 10 days. Considering it had already more than recouped all its costs from just the 8 million pre-orders, that's a lot of profit. As is typical, investors are disappointed even when a game breaks sales records. -_-

Pretty sure this thing is gonna break 20 million eventually. Whether it'll hit 30 million, we'll have to wait and see. The save file bug is now fixed, btw.

Overall it seems like, even counting the buggy release, GGG made the right call.
Investors are disappointed because CDPR probably destroyed their reputation in the process. A lot of Cyberpunk hype was based on goodwill from The Witcher. Will their next projects be hyped in advanced so much, or will people approach with extreme skepticism? Although.. consumers memories are short, so I doubt it.

Personally I dropped the $70 on Cyberpunk a few days before it released without a second thought.. for their next game I will absolutely think twice.

i think everyone should do that for EVERY game, as no game is immune to this, nor is any developer.
from all the examples we have of this happening over the past 10+ years, its still going to continue to happen. buggy unfinished garbage being released. yes it doesn't mean it won't get fixed, but why buy it on the promise of it getting fixed?
maybe if the money is withheld from these people there will be more accountability, more incentive, to release it finished.

at least with poe its free. their stuff is released unfinished (or untested, or just buggy, or w/e) but we're not paying 20-30-40 bucks or more every single league launch.
yet everyone here will bitch and moan about how a league is released, FOR FREE, but some still won't call out cyberpunk or any other AAA title released in the same state for its crap?

bonkers
Cdpr will sink. The executives are to blame for cp (8yrs in the making) and that kind of leadership will bring the company to its grave.
IIRC CDPR stocks lost like 20% of its value after CP77 release.

So did ActiBlizz after Blizzcon 2018.
And now theyre back on track.

Theyll patch it and update it and after that noone will care about the launch anymore, just like with any other game that had a shitty release.

There wouldve been a huge shitstorm if they delayed the game another 6 months.

Theres no way they can do it right for everyone.People underestimate how much work a game of that scope is and how complicated every single part of it is. CP2077 isnt solitaire...
