They can do it right for everyone you shouldn't go in thinking that it has to be a screwed up launch, FF7RM for example didn't have a day 1 patch AFAIK and didn't even get a patch for 6 months lol (mentioning this just because its very unusual these days and I was impressed)

2077 clearly had a feature creep and development cycle issue where its just taken so long that it was no longer viable for original equipment and ended up in a situation where realistically they needed to say this game can't be played on a stock PS4/Xbone - I don't even know if Sony/MS will allow a developer to make a game that only works on the higher power model so that was probably out to.

It was a choice of release like shit or take a monumental hit on sales, I have no idea what the projections were but I have a strong suspicion anybody involved with the project would have taken the first including me. Repairing a reputation is far easier than repairing bankrupty especially for a developer of that size.

Basically its understandable especially with how ambitious they were being but don't say they can't get it right for everyone they can, they just didn't. You rarely hear about ones getting it right but thats because there is nothing to talk about, not because they don't happen.
From what I've read, it seems to play just fine on PCs. I personally don't think that every game should be made for consoles and PCs. It's a good business practice to maximize profits, but it also optimizes games to the lowest common denominator. That means the absolute best games for PC will not be made if consoles are taken into consideration (speaking purely about potential).

Developers will absolutely look to this as another cautionary tale and lower a games potential to console level. That's a shame for PC games from big developers who will always try to maximize profits.
Thanks for all the fish!

JRPGs are pretty simple games in their core, they're rarely buggy as the things you can do in them are pretty limited, it isn't nearly on the same level as a freeform open world game. Red Dead Redemption 2 is probably a better recent example of a game with a similar scope that released in a better state.
That said, RDR2 was really 8 years in development and it also got pretty crunchy in the end, CB2077 development didn't start for real until witcher 3 was fully done, so ultimately it wasn't enough time for something on that scale. If they had one more year for testing and polishing, it would be a different story, also, by that time new gen consoles would become much more common so they wouldn't feel as pressured to sell last-gen compatibility.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Its still unusual Raics for a game to not get patched, i'm not discounting the complexity of 2077 but releasing in good shape can be done that's all i was going for and your right RDR2 was a better example.

I think its important to recognise why its tough for them to get it right, but also important to not accept them getting it wrong as a matter of course.

at least for things that cost a pretty penny.
i'd say GGG gets some grace period on it and their patches because #1 its free #2 they have never released something that is completely broken. mostly just QoL and bugs.

also it CP2077 does work better on PC, but that isn't to say PC doesn't have issues. that version still has problems that majority of games will/would never have on release.

IIRC CDPR stocks lost like 20% of its value after CP77 release.

So did ActiBlizz after Blizzcon 2018.
And now theyre back on track.

Theyll patch it and update it and after that noone will care about the launch anymore, just like with any other game that had a shitty release.

There wouldve been a huge shitstorm if they delayed the game another 6 months.

The diffrence is Blizzard was always knows for their die-hard fanatic fans that will buy their shit no matter what and there are milions of people like that.
For CDPR CyberPunk got so many preorders only because Witcher games were so good. Now that they released this crap called CyberPunk people will think twice before buying another game from this studio.
Cyberpunk is a masterpiece. The game exceed all my expectation. I didnt encounter any bug that will prevent me from playing the game as i want in my 100hrs of playing. I have only 1-2 crashes and few fall through the map. But it never happened in the middle of something important and only cost me few minutes of gameplay. The game is really good on PC, have played on 1080p on ultra with no dips in fps and locked at 60fps.

But CDPR sold them self to easy earnings and releasing the game in that state on console is unacceptable. They put them self in the same basket as activison, bethesda and others. I know that i wont preorder anything from them ever again because of that, no matter that i didnt experience any problems, because tomorrow they will release buggy game on PC as they have on console. They ruined their name with lies and that release on console.

PS: the game is 10/10 from me, but i cant get past the lies.
Rumours says that GGG are helping CD Project RED with Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay/bug/gitch problems... because GGG know how to make GOOD game.

Thats the reason why they delayed new League...
