Does lion's roar increase bleed damage?
|
According to the poe wiki it shouldn't cause it boost melee phys damage and bleed isn't melee.
But i see so many bleed build using it on poeninja so im wondering if it works. Thanks in advance for help! Last bumped on Dec 11, 2020, 3:39:34 PM

" Oh, interessting. Never noticed this. Here's my guess: "75% chance to cause Enemies to Flee on use" for those without Crimson Dance keystone, maybe? Just the best armour flask for the other 2%? Or maybe knockback helps with bleed explosions? |

you're not thinking about what causes bleed.
bleeds come from attacks. the amount of damage a bleed does, is based on the amount of damage the hit did. if the hit does more damage, the bleed will be stronger. |
|
" That was the case before the bleed revamp. It doesn't work like that anymore. |
|
" Hmm maybe youre right i forgot about the knockback and flee thing. |

idk where youre getting your idea about phys damage not affecting bleed damage.
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3000657 theres a post from mark, confirming a bigger melee hit = more bleed damage. |
|
"Melee Damage is inherently Attack Damage, and Attack Damage is a different damage source than Damage over Time, so modifiers to Melee Damage don't affect Bleed damage. The modifiers in Mark's post is "Attack Skills deal Increased Damage". Bleeding is still being inflicted by the skill, even if it isn't Attack Damage, so that particular modifiers applies, even though Increased Melee/Projectile/Attack damage does not. |

This is getting a little convoluted.
" This was the core proposition and Thror had it. Lion's Roar increases the physical damage of the underlying melee hit. Since the base bleed damage is a function of the physical hit that caused it, Lion's Roar will increase your bleed damage, assuming your skill can benefit from Lion's Roar, and assuming you can cause bleeding with it. |

"Melee physical damage" modifier shouldn't increase bleed damage in any way, directly or indirectly.

It benefits bleed damage because the value of the base bleed is a function of the initial physical hit that causes the bleed. Anything that boosts the initial physical damage will boost the bleed resulting from that physical damage.
Or if you are saying that bleed damage is no longer a function of initial physical damage, please post a link on that. I haven't seen anything. Which doesn't mean they didn't change it. But when you say something that's been a certain way for a long time has changed, it's always good to post the source. Especially when someone else posted a recent thread above where GGG confirms that it still works that way... Last edited by GreyLensman#5323 on Dec 7, 2020, 10:27:58 AM
