Seeking Redemption

I know there's been a lot of these posts but with the new approach to bans from GGG there is not many avenues of approach when trying to navigate this as a customer.

I am with everyone else when it comes to ridding the game of those who would negatively impact the integrity of the game. However, treating a loyal customer in a way which equates her to a botter, gives them canned responses and tells them there is no recourse or path to redemption is shocking and heartbreaking. I have contributed hundreds and hundreds of dollars and invested thousands of hours over the course of a decade and being treated in this manner is really very disappointing and very unlike the GGG I am familiar with.

I can absolutely respect if GGG is changing direction and wants to take a hard line with these things. I have no issue playing by their rules. Ban me for 3, 6 months or hell, even a year to send the message but to banish a devoted customer of 10 years without so much as an explanation or warning? It honestly feels like having a loved one steal from you.

I love you GGG, please make this right.

Redemption stories are nice and I'm glad your not claiming you didn't cheat.

That said the part where you mention GGG changing direction has methinking that you know someone who GGG tempt banned before and that obviously didn't dissuade you from not cheating.

Thus this new perma-ban direction with more bite might at least stop whales from cheating.

All good and justified until one day you realize how easy it is for them to take away your precious belongings without so much as a thank you for 10 years of financial support. It's akin to putting men behind bars for smoking weed. There is 100% a better way to treat customers like me. I've essentially had $2000 stolen from my pocket. This is completely unacceptable.

I just want to make it clear, my banned account was never part of botting or exploitation. AHK for flask macro was the most egregious third party software ever used. Beyond that I had been using PoE Overlay during Harvest league. If I was banned for even one day I would immediately be spooked enough to give up any of those apps. No question. How can you not be willing to help a loyal customer back to his assets and offer a second chance? I am not a currency botter! Plain and simple.

Furthermore, to ban a loyal customer like me who, from our patronage, you've been able to find great success. And from which you've found further success in markets like China where the very thing you've (apparently) banned me for is a feature of the game!? This is not rocket science.

You have all the tools GGG to make this right but choose to adhere to your protocol of zero tolerance. How much longer will you continue to drag customers like me through this humiliating process until we begin to talk to our friends and they too become weary of swiping their credit cards so freely and openly as we have done in the past?

No, there should be no second chance. You knew you were putting your account at risk and now you have to deal with the consequences.

So are they cheating on the Chinese client with sanctioned flask macro's? They get to save the health of their hands and wrists while I get banned? These arguments are shallow, spiteful and frankly boring.

Doesn't matter if they are or not because we're not playing on the Chinese client. We have our rules and they have theirs.

Edit: I get the feeling you've been cheating a lot longer than the Chinese client has been a thing. There is no argument to be had, you broke the rules and you've got your punishment. Justify it any way you want because it won't change a thing.

GGG, is this the kind of abuse you are ok with putting your players through in order to get support on these matters?

What part of using a flask macro or POE Overlay is cheating? Just curious as I'm also a long-time customer and would like to avoid being disciplined for things literally 95% of the playerbase is doing.

As an aside, I have not ever used any sort of macro for PoE.

If you wanted support and not a public discussion I'd suggest you stick to emailing GGG directly and also asking them to lock this thread.
