Prime Example of Hacking Try

if I am going to use anything to 'increase' safety of my computer I rather not go to the same company that created IE...

btw all anti-virus software works like I described, that just what they do.. it suppose to make you realize how ironic anti-virus software is..

altho I agree is good for people that don't know anything about computers... but those always get malware and viruses anyway :P they just have a talent for that

You're doing it wrong if you get messages and warnings all the time.
MSE is all you need btw. Malawarebytes for extra reassurance, and CCleaner to keep things clean.
Actually, if you know how to use interwebs, you don't need any of those. Specially if you don't randomly surf the web (which is like randomly going everywhere RL - you're bound to run into some risks at some point).

I occasionally use a malware cleaner, and that is all. 17 years or so of MMORPG/MMOARPG experience and I never got hacked. At the slightest sign of infection (after 20 years of surfing, and with some internet knowledge, you know how to see the sign and you know how to regularly check what's running on your computer) I simply format my computer. All my important data is always saved on a separate drive.

I use my computer to do my banking, never got my bank account hacked either. Good internet practices generally saves you from having to slow your computer down with anti-malware software. Formatting regularly actually keeps your computer running at max performance, like, always as well.

The best anti-virus is NOD32, The best free AV is AVG. BitDefender and G Data are also pretty good. MSSE is good, but misses some newer threats.

If you use common sense, then you won't need the best AV all the time.
Anti virus will not be able to catch freshly created malware. You can either learn this knowledge from me, or you can learn it the hard way :)
The malware they stuff into these game hacks isn't exactly fresh. But yeah, it's new enough or morphed enough that some don't detect it.

He is right, give me 5 minutes and I can hex edit any trojan or key logger and make it 100% undetectable and as long as I never share it with people or use it on a massive scale, it will never show up on a anti-virus or what ever your going to use.

Firewalls are useless with a reverse connection (They connect to you)

So anyone with a fraction of computer knowledge and is not a complete script kiddie can bypass all of your firewalls, antivirus's and scans.

JUST DON'T DOWNLOAD ANYTHING

Problem solved.

The way antivirus's generally work is they are always one step behind, they find large scale viruses and detect there commonly used code.

If it is new, or say i change everything around then it wont realize it is a RAT or simple keylogger..

And at the end of the day, regardless of your antivirus software, the best defense against this sort of crap, is commonsence. Never click on anything questionable or looks too good to be true.

It's a precaution, nothing more if you're not an idiot.
Ccleaner however is just awesome. Cleans up garbage, and old registry entries with a few clicks.

I assure you though having MSE running in the tray isn't slowing me down at all. What so ever.
Having scheduled scan on, and it doing a scan while you're in the middle of something is another story, and that'd be dumb, now wouldn't it.

take my facebook/youtube like buddy :]

And Damage, yes, if you can tolerate running those, then indeed, it is a good precaution, but a crafty software engineer can easily bypass those. Antiviruses and such are for mainstream things, PoE Keyloggers aren't exactly mainstream.

And yes, some cleaner programs are amazing :] Antiviruses are garbage though. You shouldn't need your mother to tell you you could catch an STD if you sleep with a shady girl. Same deal apply to shady programs (Maphacks sounds pretty shady to me, it IS a third party program and it IS cheating, which is against ToS.)
