Currency has a use outside of buying stuff though, you can't compare it to real world money. The more currency you have, the more you can afford to gamble in the crafting system
This is true only in theory unfortunately.
If you look at some okay gear a chaos or 2 can buy, then go to path of crafting, and calculate how much it would cost to craft a similar item, you end up seeing a huge disparity. So huge, it is nonsensical to even try crafting.
It's like trying to cook your dinner over a campfire made of 1$ bills. Technically possible, so you could say the bills have a use outside of buying things. But practically, those bills could buy you tons of firewood, which would serve the same purpose magnitudes better.
So at this point the only real value of a chaos orb is being accepted as currency.
We might as well just trade in leather belts. If only they were stackable.
Delirium can be added to a map for 16 chaos. Chisels can be bought with chaos. 20 chaos per map you could easily spend. Than to roll decent quantity on top of that

Not quite sure I see your point.

Bots will find items and currency in the same proportions as players. They'll thus not distort the relative prices much. At most, they'll provide so much supply that demand can not follow, and prices will actually DROP for normal players...

So, you can buy delirium orbs for chaos and you can buy chisels for chaos. Great. At which point did you exactly use a chaos orb to reroll mods on a rare item?
But I agree, mapping is the one case when currency items see some actual use, since you don't want anything specific. You just want to avoid certain few mods, and want in general high quantity mods, therefore it's the easiest form of crafting.
But can you give any example regarding normal, character-worn items, when crafting is more beneficial than buying?

Don't tell us that can't understand why regular players are getting screwed by farming bots... Please.

Dead horse...
Bots/RMT isn't new. Play SSF if the P2W aspect irritates you.

The most hilarious is when you drop a mirror or the doctor card in SSF.
Guess who smells the dead horse now.

Well, you don't exactly have much of a choice now, do you?
Bots will always be here... for as long as people RMT
- Suck it up
- Play SSF
- Don't play
Your choice.

Please learn how supply and demand works in economics... Your claim that more supply with no corresponding increase in demand hurts the consumers is contrary to what actually happens...
